OG 1108, FG 1026, Color 388.7 EBC, Chinook and Saaz hops. Bitterness 93.5 EBU.

Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

18cl bottle #104 batch 19 Feb 09 (28 months old)
Pitch black color with a beige ring of foam arround the glass.
Rich heavy nose of roast, chocolate, plums, subtle hint of red fruit, slight touch of vanilla, alcohol presence. Full body, malty flavor, chocolate, dark fruit, alcohol touch, not a great finish, sticky palate.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2011. Very black, small beige head. Sweaty hops blends with licorice and strawberry. Sweet and soft, full bodied. Lots of tobacco and licorice, spun sugar comes through before the bitterish finish.

Not really my style, but still it scored pretty high. Didn’t like the mouthfeel.

Palme (3546) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 14, 2011
Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2011 from bottle. Pours a hazy murky-brown body lasting off-white head packed with lots of floaters. Sour and tarty aroma, oaky and light hopy with a hint of butter. Softly carbonated and medium-bodied. This was some strange flavors! Slightly sweet and sour, it’s hopy but almost pungent-hopy. Longlasting alcohol and hops in the aftertaste. Interesting, but a bit weird and definitely not what I was expecting from an imperial porter.

180 ml bottle.
Pours a pitch black colour with a small, light brown head. Aroma of strong tobacco, roasted malts and chocolate. Flavour of roasted malts, tobacco, dark coffee and chocolate. Oily texture. Full bodied with a thick mouthfeel and a smooth, dry, roasty finish. Pleasant.
