COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OG 1108, FG 1026, Color 388.7 EBC, Chinook and Saaz hops. Bitterness 93.5 EBU.

Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

Zwart bier, geen schuimkraag. Aroma van koffie, appelstroop, toast. Smaakt naar koffie, hoestdrank. Lekker.

Bottiglia 33cl bevuta a casa. Color caramello scuro, schiuma fine e persistente. Poco carbonata, corpo medio, buona beva nonostante la gradazione, finale amaro.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours black as midnight with a brief brown head that settles to a persistent film on the surface. Aroma loudly boasts of roasted coffee and chocolate. Fairly sweet and lightly bitter, this is a full body Imperial Porter that’s thick, moderately sticky, and soft on the carbonation. Long bitter finish. The label says to “enjoy it within 25 years” … but it only lasted a day-and-a-half at my house!

Cask at The Grove, Huddersfield. 20.01.13. Was meant to be on tap, but the keykeg liner had split, and so was decanted into a cask! Clear, dark, chestnut brown. Bubbly, tan head. Dark chocolate mints. Vimto fruit cordial. The chocolate mint is there when tasting. Smooth, alcohol warmth evident (even after 5 hours in The Grove!). Long, bitter finish. Delightful. And scarily easy to drink, too!

2007 vintage, 75 cl first bottling, #202/217. Major cheers to NoiZe for this one. This is arguably one of the finest beers by De Molen I’ve had. This has been on the bottle for 6 years and there’s no oxidization. Big molasses, coffee, candy sugar, soy sauce. Classic Molen smells and flavors going on here. Mouthfeel is soft and velvety, absolutely delicious.

18cl bottle #095 @ home. Black body with a medium light brown head. Nice coffee, chocolate notes with some roasted malt in the aroma. Flavour is bitter, coffee, chocolate, hops, roasted malt, molasses, some sweet bourbon-ish notes. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Great.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a strongish head. The aroma is roasted and sweet with bitterness. The flavour is very vinous with a high degree of maltiness, bitterness and some roastedness. Overall a nice strong dark ale.

330 ml bottle, pours almost black with no head, looks like a glass of cola. Chocolate malts with a silky smooth texture, dried fruit flavours in the background. Finish is short and balanced. Alcohol is hidden well. Carbonation soft. Very nice indeed.

Black with small tan head, aroma is smooth, beef stock, wood. Flavours of liquorice, coffee, chocolate and something meaty. Lovely beer.
