COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OG 1108, FG 1026, Color 388.7 EBC, Chinook and Saaz hops. Bitterness 93.5 EBU.

Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

Bottle from the Bierkoning. Dark, black pour with receding brown foam. Aroma is roasty, molasses and anise, quite boozy. Taste is malty, lots of anise, molasses, dark chocolate, light roast, strong alcohol warmth in the finish. Palate is full bodied, light carbonation, nice coating creamy palate. Good sipper.

Wow. I’ve had a few stunning porters in the last year, and this is certainly on the pile of the best. Strong sugar nose, earthy fruits, and a flavour that marches from the front of the tongue to the back. Sweetness, sharpness from the alcohol, to bitterness, and then a dessert like finish that ties all of those experiences together each mouthful. Truly wonderful. If I can secure another few bottles, I’ll happily let it rest a few more years! truly stunning.

Very good porter. A lot of stout notes. Aroma is sugars like brown sugar and chocolate. A sweeter beer with a thin plate but tons dessert flavors and a lite hoppy bitter finsh.

Melkein yhtä vahvana on kahvista paahteisuutta ja juurimaisuutta. Haju on hyvin tasapainossa. Maku on hyvin vahvaa salmiakkista otetta, hiven heikompana on tukevaa lakritsisuutta. Alla on jonkin verran juurimaisuutta ja maanläheisyyttä, jonkin verran havuisuuttakin tuntuu aivan maun loppupuolella tuoden hieman raikkaamman vivahteen tullessaan. Suutuntuma on hyvin tukeva ja tuhti, kokonaisvaikutelma on hivenen hyökkäävä pysyen kuitenkin miellyttävänä. Todella hieno imperial porter, melko monipuolinen tapaus salmiakkisuuden ollessa kaikkein vahvimpana. Voisin kuvitella, että omaan suuhuni sopii paremmin näin kuin tuoreena (pullotettu 21.3.-13), ja humalointi (93 IBU) on tasaantunut.

Bottle shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Dark brown, tan head. Nose is malts with sour hints, roast, sweetness, alcohol, dark fruits. Taste is similar to the nose, more dark fruits and sweetness, berry tones, sourness, ash, wood, alcohol. A very nice balance. Thick, sticky palate.

Bottle 330 ml at home, into a snifter, no bottling date on the label, ABV 11% Pours a very dark brown and almost totally black beer, with one finger of brown head, thick, with very good retention, leaving some big bubbles and foam islands on the surface and light lacing around the glass. Aroma is heavy on dark fruits with lots of plums, molasses, very sweet in general, some chocolate, sugar, shery. Taste is moderate sweet, with lots of chocolate and roasted malts too, ash, wood, very well hidden alcohol, some fortified wine notes. Very thick body, low carbonation that works grear, quite sticky on the palate. Overall a great beer.
