Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

Shared 0.33L bottle at Haandbryggeriet Bar, Sundland, Drammen. Pours a near black, ruby-shaded body, topped by a dense choco head. Aroma of rounded well roasted dark malts, milk chocolate, alcohol infused dark dried fruits and faint vanilla. Feels utterly smooth in the mouth. Yet filling with a soft sparkling carbonation. Rich, well roasted and rounded malt flavor, featuring chocolate, creamed and peppery caramel and dark dried fruits. Solid bitterness. A pleasant alcohol warmth throughout. Nice all over.

Pours an almost black color with a small pale-brown head. Aroma is lightly roasted with cocoa, coffee, fudge and candy. Flavour is sweet and candy like with lightly roasted notes of chocolate and fudge. Fullbodied with soft carbonation - very smooth. Nice stuff.

18cl bottle. Dec 2010 vintage. The label says 10% ABV. Pours pitch black with no head. Not even one single bubble. Nice lacing. Aroma is alcohol, roasted notes, alcohol, some coffe and vanilla and alcohol again. Taste is roasty and coffee, but rather sweet-ish up front. Then the roasted notes come through and the finish is long and bitter. Huge coffee, some vanilla. Alcohol presence again, almost whiskey. Body is thick and carbonation is almost not existent. Overall, very nice, very roasty and very coffe but, sadly, even very flat.

small bottle, no head, aroma roasty chocolate. Color black no head. Taste heavy, medium bitter. Full body, like oily. Nice beer but more a RIS then a Porter.

Bottle. Black with gorgeous tan head. Creamy mouthfeel. Light carbonation. A sweet, mildly hoppy flavour. There’s a syrupy prune note. A smoky presence. The alcohol is well contained. All in all, this beer is an absolute delight. So much going on.

Bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of liqourice, chocolate and booze. Flavour is dark chocolate, dark fruit with a hoppy bitterness in the background. Almost flat but full bodied. Very good.

180mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks Dany), pours black with a small tan ring of head. Aroma of sugar, slight brandy (though not as pronounced as in the Reserva version), liqueur-coated chocolate and a considerable hop presence. Flavour is rich and full-bodied with brandy covered fruits, chocolate, slight booze, wood, and finishes roasty and hoppy. Full-bodied and complex, especially for a porter. Inferior to the Reserva but still damn well-made and enjoyable.

Bottle at Dan’s. Pours a deep black/brown. Aroma of dark fruit, hop spiciness, liquor, a touch of chocolate. Chocolate, dark fruits, liqyorice and hop spice in the taste. Maybe a touch flat, but it suits this one. Very nice indeed.
