OG 1108, FG 1026, Color 388.7 EBC, Chinook and Saaz hops. Bitterness 93.5 EBU.

Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

Ah, doesn’t it feel just great to drink a proper porter? Black pour with a frothy tan head. Wonderful nose of chocolate (running the spectrum from white to dark), vanilla, marzipan, oak, and roasted malts. I’d have given it a 10 if, ceteris paribus, it were a little stronger (meaning more obvious to the nose, not necessarily different in its constituent notes). Smooth, medium-to-heavy body with austere carbonation. Taste is sweet and only sufficiently bitter, with a mild boozy component, with an earthy but sweet finish.

Black with quick fading head. Some sweetness in the aroma with some chocolatey notes. Smooth and oily texture with very low carbonation. Elements of dark chocolate and some dark dried fruits. A rather dry finish.

On tap @De Molen. Deep dark brown colour with a generous tan head. Good retention. Coffee, dark chocolate, raisins and nuts in the aroma. Full bodied. The taste is very balanced but I was expecting more flavour, but it is a porter anyway. Overall, a fantastic beer.

the aroma of caramel, dark fruits and red wine... the taste is caramel and fruity with shades of plum, black currant, figs, dates, toffee and port... sweet and warming aftertaste... this beer is more like a barley wine than porter...

A dark oily colour with no head. The reason is coffee, but we can taste also Chocolate, nuts, alcohol well hiden. In this beer is the line betwen imperial porter and imperial stout thin. overall very good beer.

Pitch black with light brown thick foam head. The smell is breakfast like with coffee, bacon and roasted chocolate. The taste is a slow start, but scores with a round sweetness, a fruity notes (blackberries, cassis and stuff) and a smokey finish. The beer is very round balanced and too easy to drink regarding a two digit alcohol content. Very mild and less coffee than most of the other imperial stouts I had so far.

8.8.2014. Aroma of cacao and sth, floral or herbal. Taste is sweetish, still cacao, burnt sugar, roasted malts and that sth. Warming finish. Somehow a bit simple for the style.

So I finally get my hands on this one. Pitch black color with thick beige head and beautiful lacing. Dark malts and smoky bacon in the aroma. Rich taste of dark malts, dark fruits, milk chocolate (and a bit of dark chocolate as well), nuts (hazelnuts). Feels sweet, but not quite sweet at the same time. A rather subtle interpretation, but very very good.
