4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours a big light brown head which turns into a creamy upper layer. Medium lacing. Opaque dark brown body, almost black. Aroma is complex. I sense coffee, liquorice, dark chocolate, soy sauce, toffee and toasted bread. Quite sweet in the nose. Sharp and bitter on the tongue at first, then becomes sugar-like. The sweet aftertaste lasts a loooong time. Excellent palate, very creamy. I’m not usually into porters, but this is one is fantastic!

all the de molen i had in holland was great, all the bottles here in the states are all pretty much subpar, maybe the travel screws with them? .. . dark oil black, mild foam .. . a bit sharp, burnt tar .. mouth is lighter, long squeaky finish .. not what it should be, i imagine .. . .
You know the black bits in bananas, are they tarantulas’ eggs?
Please don’t speak to me ever again in your life.

W aromacie sporo suszonych owoców -rodzynki, figi, śliwki to główny nurt skontrowany czekoladą. Piany brak, wysycenie bliskie zeru. W smaku bardzo owocowe , z czekoladową kontrą, najbardziej zaskakujący jest lekko belgijski finisz. Bardzo ciekawy porter, może nie w stylu, ale szalenie przyjemny.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Pours dark brown. Thin layer of tan head, which quickly dissappears. Dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, dark fruit and alcohol aroma. Roasted coffee, ripe apple, date, plum, chocolate and some canilla flavour. Velvet mouth feel. Dry ending. Thick and oily body. Soft carbonation. Sweet. Dome bitterness. Very good. A bit too much alcohol aroma and warmth make it a bitboozy though.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled 17 nov 2014. ABV 11%. Pours dark black with a minimal off-white, brownish head. Clear coffee appearance. Nose is predominantly coffee as well. Good roastyness, some dark chocolate, dark fruits, licorice, burned sugar as well. Good autumny aroma. Wonderful nose. Taste is moderately sweet with a nice lingering bitter undertone. Great roasty touch all along. Sugar, coffee (mocha), forest fruits, licorice and a nice hopbitter. Something porto-like as well. Great, rich and balanced taste. Wonderful use of the alcohol which bears all the flavors in an excellent way. Palate-wise a bit on the thinnish side, could have had more body and a bit more creamy texture. However an incredibly smooth Porter. Wonderfully drinkable and definitely worth another buy.

Bottle in the Grove, Huddersfield. Pours deep mahogany with a thin beige head. The aroma is rich coffee and dark chocolate. The taste is fantastic - liquorice, toffee, treacle, coffee and light spice. Sweet and sticky at first, then bitter in the finish. Mind blowingly good.

Absolutely fantastic beer, shared with Hrabren. 0.33 l bottle from Hoppiness, Koper. 10.1% abv, intensive pleasant aroma, tastes like dried plums, a little bit smoked and even a little salty, roasted barley, good (and even a litlle sweet) Imperial porter, I would definitely like to drink it again. Dried fruit finish. I like it!!!
