(Bottle thanks to Jeppe, one of the most friendly and generous reatbeerians out there) Pours black with brown lines and no head. The aroma is of light to medium sticky sweetness, medium roasted/burned malt and some vinous notes with tones of dark chocolate, dark berries, some blue mature grapes, black currant, light smoke, dark syrup, light caramel, wet stone, anise/sal ammoniac, dried fruits. and some light hints of limey/grassy/herbal hops. The flavour is of strong and spicy espresso, cocoa, liquorice and anise up front with vinous undertones. Other notable tones are wet stone, light dry smokiness, dark fruits/prunes, dark syrup alongside grassy and tiny citric hops. The mouthfeel is dry, soft and tiny sticky. Light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Some alcohol warmth. Medium to full bodied.

Aug 20, 2008 #458 11/07 @Richmond/Williamsburg Gathering-33 cl bottle-pours with no head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-roasty, slight vegetal, dark fruit. Taste is vinuous, dark malt-roasty, slight vegetal, dark fruit, some salt/acidic. Thanks dkachur/Dan for sharing.

Aug 13, 2008 RBSG 2008. Pours dark brown with a soft tan head that fades fast. Very smoky and earthy, heavy burnt flavors give an impression of BBQ’d steak, some charred hefty concoction. Finish has a touch of saltiness, that when mixed with the charred flavors brings out a touch of soy sauce.

Aug 11, 2008 Richmond Summer Gathering. Bottled 1NOV07, #458, courtesy of dkachur. Black with no head. Mild nose, roasty malt, chocolate, raisin, a whiff of smoke. Excellent body - slick and satiny. Slightly burnt malt flavors, chocolate and a touch of licorice. Just a bit of saltiness in there somewhere. Excellent!

Aug 9, 2008 Bottle at the Williamsburg Gathering courtesy of dkachur. Labeled #458. Near black dark brown pour. Absolutely no head on this except a larger bubble or two. Nose is soy sauce, roasted malts, salt, dark chocolate and cocoa. Taste is salty and soy sauce-like with more roasted malts, slight burnt coffee and light dark fruit. Body is near flat but has a nice slickness and is velvety smooth going down. Ends with hops and licorice, soft chocolate, soy sauce, and some odd herbalness. A unique Baltic porter!

Aug 7, 2008 Bottle #458 courtesy of bierkoning. Thanks Edo! Shared at the 2008 Richmond Summer Gathering in Williamsburg. Bottled 11/11/07. Very dark brown pour with a small head. Roasty aroma with notes of alcohol, soy and subtle hops. Taste of chocolate, soy and smoke. Very sticky texture.
