COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
OG 1108, FG 1026, Color 388.7 EBC, Chinook and Saaz hops. Bitterness 93.5 EBU.

Stronger version of a Baltic Porter. Comparable with an Imperial Stout but without the heavily roasted malt character. This created a soft beer with strong hops in the finish.

Black thin body, with almost no foam (I was expecting more on the appearance). Aromas of vanilla, but quickly fades away and just some alcohol stays there. Taste: chocolate, dark sugar, some roasted malts. The best thing about this beer is the aftertaste Its long and bitter-sweet. If it wasn’t for the aftertaste, my grade would have been less, but it does end up really nice. It gives you a great overall feeling.

11.2 ounce bottle, stamp on back label says 05/04/12. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. The brew smells like dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some milk chocolate and a bit of an earthy/herbal flavor noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s a bit creamy and slick, and has a good amount of carbonation. I think it’s a good brew, but also pricey at $8.99 a bottle. With that being said, it’s definitely worth trying.

Bottle from City Beverage Co Shoreditch. Pours very dark brown with light only coming through on the very edges. A small light tan head is produced which quickly disappears to a small ring around the top. Nose is quite subdued. As it warms it opens up a fair bit. Reminds me of chocolate covered sultanas. Heavy dark fruits with sharp vanilla, chocolate, liquorice as it warms. Some odd black cherry tones which work nicely. Taste showcases the dark fruits, coats the palate in milk chocolate. Some heavy vanilla gives it a sharp bitter sweet note on the finish. Slightly dry. Carbonation is a little spritzy but helps it flow. 11% is hid very well. Good stuff without being spectacular

Bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Nose is chocolate and dark fruit. Taste is dominated by chocolate, but also has some sweet bourbon like notes but finishes with some smoke/char notes and some hop bitterness. Palate is thick and creamy. This is one of the best porters I've had in a while. Complex and delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at De Molen. Poured a dark mahogany colour with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is fruity, a little malt and some alcohol. The flavour is medium bitter with a little liquorice, roasted malt and some resin too. Considering the ABV, the bitterness was well controlled and the palate was smooth and sweet.
