Bottle 180ml. [Bottled Feb 2009, n.826] Pours black, with low beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is of smoke, caramel, alchool, oak, roasted malt. Taste is alchool (porto-like), caramel, roasted malt. Very complex, lots of flavors involved. Interesting complexity of the aroma, taste is heavy, difficult to describe with accuracy. Very porto-like.

18 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu. Rated on 08.04.2011
Aroma has lots of vanilla, some roasted malts, coffee and hints of chocolate. Flavour has vanilla, coffee, some cocoa and hints of licorice. Very good, although all the malt and make this a bit too sticky and sweet towards the end of the glass.

250 ml bottle; wow, thanks Brandon for this long time want!! pours dense black with slight white head; chocolate is heavy on the nose with light bourbon, dry malt and chocolate; molasses, charred malt, chocolate, dry malt; creamy mouthfeel, almost a meaty feel to it; super smooth and tasty chocolate overall; yum

Pours a thin, coffe like black with a ring of creamy lacing. Nose is weird, spirit barrel-like, pretty barrel forward without all the wacky charred ashy qualities of these one-off De Molens. Liqeuor-like mouth, sweet with strange vinous qualities, grappa-like. Light coffee tones coming through the plethora of mixed berries. Finish is a bit odd. All in all one of the better De Molen medicine bottles.

gbbf 2010. I can’t remember the ins and outs of this one, however I do remember a good amount of caramel and coffee notes. An absolute belter of a porter.

25 cl bottle courtesy of daknole. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. The aroma had big roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, raisin, hints of spice and some alcohol. The flavor had more big roasted malt and dark chocolate, wood, dark fruits and some alcohol heat. Medium bodied and quite tasty.

250, capped and waxed in red, bottle #313. Thanks, Rene! Pours black and still with a loose, thin rim of dark tan around the edge. Big soy sauce nose, showing overripe dark pitted tree fruits, alcohol, chocolate, and a little bit of leather. Sticky body on the high side of medium, but not overbearingly thick. Not very carbonated. Chocolate, dark fruits, some soy, and a vodka twang on the mid palate. Fairly cohesive finish; could have gone all to soy sauce but actually winds up pleasantly.
