3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 27, 2008
(Bottled) Very hazy, dark reddish amber with a medium, tanned head. Mild aroma of slightly burned malt and peaty smoke. Moderately smoky-malty, sourish flavor with lightly licoricey, salty-seaweedy flavor. Medium body with medium, soft and foamy carbonation. Borefts Bock was good, but this is not... the smoked malt just doesn’t fit into picture: it steals most of the existing complexity, replacing it with dull, peaty-smoky altiness.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Svesse (4389) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - FEB 19, 2009
(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm, 17 Feb 2009) Dark reddish brown colour with huge, beige head. Fruity, malty, slightly acidic nose with dried fruit, orange peel, dried apricots, spices and hints of smoke. Fruity, sourish taste with notes of dried fruit, orange peel, spices and sour notes of red-currant and tannin. Medium body, fairly dry. This was on the sour side, but sometimes smoke makes a beer feel sour. A bit suspicious form, but still drinkable and ok. Might give it a new chance. (Rating #2000)
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Miksu (4012) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - OCT 25, 2010
0.33 l bottle at Monk’s Cafe Wallingatan, Stockholm. Hazy brown color, a very agressive gusher. The aromas and flavors toffee, lingonberry, grapefruit, barnyard and clove. Palate is too gassy, but there are some nice wild horsey and berryish notes.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 skortila (4160) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - OCT 29, 2008
Bottle @ LCRBM 2008. Aroma has some milk and maltiness. Brown coloured with an off-white head. Taste has malts and is a bit lactic. Not my thing.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2011
11/8/9/8/10/9
