Bottle shared at Borefts ’13, big thanks to Kenny, 27/09/13. Hazed dark amber with a good sized off white head. Nose is earthy hops, orange, tangy fruit, bready malt, light smoke. Taste comprises light hops, orange pith, yeasty tones, caramelised sugars, grassy. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate, a modicum of hop bitterness in the finish. Ok - past its prime.

Borefts Beer Festival 5. Day 1. Bottle thanks to Kamiel. Cheers matey! Hazy amber beer with a small pale cream coloured head. Palate is airy and a little soft. Touch of light citrus. Light dry finish. It took too long to catch this De Molen whale and it has clearly faded. Still pretty drinkable though!

Lots of hops on the aroma, but more fresh than bitter. Very dark and opaque for an IPA, full of particulate matter -- the appearance is actually rather unappetizing. Very large, thick, foamy head. Taste is rather sweet for an IPA, with a pleasant burn to finish; almost tastes like it has chillis added, but it doesn’t.
