ReAle (120) - Rome, ITALY - JAN 8, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2011 33cl bottle bought @Bir&Fud Beer Shop (Rome) - Deep, cloudy impenetrant amber color, dirty white foam. Astonishing aroma of hops, it remind me the Re Ale Extra, but it’s more resinous and dry. Taste is very good, bitter and dry. Notes of resin, oak, citrus, grass and pomegranate. Medium body. Excellent!

bottle, courtesy of Bierkoning. Hazy amber-golden colour, large white head. Hoppy nose. Medium-bodied, solid malty base, lots of resiny and piney hop flavours, shy hints of citrus fruit. Very high carbonation, emphasizing the spiciness of the beer.

330ml bottle, amber color, with a frothy bubbly beige head, leaving some laces, nice yeasty, spicy, fruity nose of ripe apples, pear, tangerine, candied orange, lemon peel, peach esters, with a mild toasted, caramel, biscuity malt accent and a floral leafy, grassy, cedary hop aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a mild toasted, caramelized, biscuity malt, yeasty, fruity character, with a good flowery citrusy, leafy, grassy hop backbone, with some candied lemon, orange peel, minty leafy undertones and with some light pear, ripeapple tangy yeastiness notes, leading towards a fruity candied citrus, leafy, grassy, piney, minty hop bitterness finish.

330ml Bottle (Brewed 6/21/10. Bottled 7/21/10): Aroma of malt, hops, wood, light citrus, lots of yeast, and some aromas I do not know (maybe gooseberry). Poured orange/brown in color with a huge, foamy, frothy, off-white/tan head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of tiny and small particles throughout. Flavor is light to medium sweet and medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of malt, hops, wood, yeast, light resin, and light pine. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, hop, wood, yeast, and slight pine finish is dry. Tasty and different.

Perfect balance between citric and pine hop flavors. Some tropical fruit also comes through. The pine is all over the flavor. Very piney and resinous with a touch of sweet malt. A really nice ipa.
