4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUL 22, 2013 Bottle in Rome during The Stag Do. Super sweet and boozy. Full bodied with average carbonation and lots of heat. Warm finish, notes of aged malts, toffee, caramel. Lingering booze, heat, sugar and caramel. Very nice, even if these notes don’t fully reflect it. (4.2)
Bottle at THE Barley Wine Tasting - East Croydon. I didn’t bring this one - maybe Kenny did? Or Bruce? Anyway, yet again I neglected to take adequate notes, notes to do this fine beer justice. It was big and sweet and perhaps lightly cheesy, but on the whole I quite enjoyed it yet again. (3.9)

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: OCT 7, 2012 Dusty, robust looking brown body with small lacing. Lots of wood, grapes, whiskey aromas, tutti frutti and dark bread. Taste is candy, hazelnut, liquor. Terrifically complex and rich. After sipping some time it really reminds me of a good old Port. Rarely did I taste a beer this full of flavour en complexity, without getting too heavy or dusty. World class. (33cl bottle at De Molen) (Rating re-indexed)
