Bottle 18 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear amber with a tiny off-white head. Very, very sweet aroma, loads of licorice allsorts. Thick and syrupy body, hardly any carbonation, lots of sweet caramel and Bourbon. Hot alcohol finish. Indeed a sipper. 190511

Bourbon Barrel Aged Little rim constituting the ’head’; totally hazy deep-red beer. Fruity alcoholnose, very strong, aromatic, complex and typical vanilla/oak from the Bourboncask. Smelling sweet, but great at the same time. Fruit, alcohol, and alcoholdrenched wood. Preserved red fruit on old dusty casks of precious brandy. Complex, balanced despite the definite tilt towards the sweet side. Some old world brandy fruitcake (description that suits me like a glove). Very slick, oily and alcoholic, warming. It IS a bit tilted towards the cherry-brandy cake. But I can like that too...

Bottle from Bier Koning. Clear glass bottle shock! Clear brown beer, residual tan head. Despite a slightly syrupy mouthfeel the palate is amazingly light for its abv. Tiny bit of carbonation. Sweet malt and sweet bourbon with a little vanilla wood underneath. That’s about it but eee by gum it’s smooth and well joined up! Exhibits no alcohol heat! Tasty little treat!

Vaiz (2680) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 2, 2011
Bottle at home. Clear very dark brown pour without any head. Aroma is very complex with clear notes of bourbon, leather, alcohol, plum, raisins, and sugars. Flavor is very sweet and warming, with a very fruity start and a more tingling warming boozy finish. Still, the alcohol is very well hidden. Massive brew, only lacking a little carbonation.

Small white bottle. Malt, maple syrup, oak and bourbon in the aroma. Milk chocolate. Malty, very sweet flavor with maple syrup, plums, oak and hints of bourbon. The massive malty sweetness leaves the alcohol almost unnoticed. Thick and massive mouthfeel. A masterpiece of craftsmanship to make such a massive beer drinkable.

Clear, uncoloured bottle. The aroma has bourbon, sugar, caramel and a lot of dried fruits. Clear, brown coloured, with a thin, off-white lace. The taste is very sweet, has raisins and other dried fruits, bourbon, caramel/sugar. The sweetness and bourbon pairs great. Fantastic!

Bottled from bierkoning. Clear copper color, hardly any head, some lasting lacing at the side of the glass. Big sweet aroma of raisins and grapes, some caramel malty notes, lovely bourbon. Very sweet taste, raisin, like a barleywine dessert. Alcohol is not overwhelming, but just present as a little pleasant burn. Not your everyday brew, but pretty dam tasty!
