24th September 2011 Borefts Beer Festival 3. Opaque black beer, little tan head. Light palate, a little dry. Bretty seltzer like minerals. Nice amount of cherry. All in great balance. After scooping all the beers on the 2nd day this was one of my go to beers to spend my tokens. Must of had a pint and half of this! Lovely!

Sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2011. Pours a pitch black beer with a beige head. The aroma is malt, tart, fruit and cherries. The flavor follows the nose with additional sweetness. The palate is fruity with sweetness. Overall a good beer.

You don’t expect a taste like this coming from beer that looks like a porter. The sour taste is immediate and lasting. While it takes a while to warm up to, the cherries compliment the thick maltiness perfectly.

Tap @ BBF. Carbon-black color with frothy tan head. Aroma is just plain wrong, considering types and traditions, yet not at all unsuccesful. Tono and tons of cherry, funky sourness, sweet rum, only a faint remnant of its black and roasted past. Taste is a little weird with a modicum of roasted notes, some liquorice, a little sour coffee. Then come the monstrous cherries, reinforced by the roasted notes to ridiculous - but not uninteresting - proportions. Not unsuccesful. Just plain damn weird. Excellent experiment.

Tap @ BBF ’11. My last beer and also festival highlight of this year. Black pour. Sour fruits aroma with cherries. A lot of cherry. Sour taste but drinkable. Not a big fan of sour brews, but this one was just great! Loved the roasted hints in the background. Very good balance between sour and porter/stout. Just great!
