Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of jbrus. Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a creamy beige head. Roasted malty arome with a pleasant whiff of oxidization. Solid body with a massive malty base, a little caramel also. Mouthfeel is a little tired but the finish warms with massive alcohols. 041109

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2008 Bottle, 8.3%. Farty, vinous aroma, sweet and slightly roasted. Hazy dark brown colour, no head. Buttery toffee notes. Quite roasted. Light chocolate, chocolate drink powder flavour. Very low carbonation. Strange. Luckily I have another bottle in my cellar. 4 3 4 3 7

Bottle, 8.3%. Good, sweet malty aroma, vinous and slightly yeasty, hint of anis. Cloudy dark brown colour. The flavour is malty and yeasty. Hard roasted malts. Some pepper to round it off. OK, but would have been better with less yeast flavour. 7 3 7 3 13

Dark red-brown color, big creamy head. Light aroma, the carbonation gets in the nose too; caramel, dry mushrooms. The body is not very strong, doesn’t show its power, just some signs from the warming alcohol; it has a strong caramel flavor, medium to dark, some chocolate, rather dry mouthfeel, traces of liquorice; correct bitterness. The mouthfeel is quite weak in the final too, where the alcohol presence shows up more; not enough malty, too dry to be really enjoyable.
Getting warmer, it loses everything on the way, no depth whatsoever, just a sweet harmless juice. Nothing special.
