Boiled for 20 hours to create an umami flavour. Umami is the fifth basic taste next to sweet, sour, salty and bitter. By doing so we have now a beer that’s very thick and oily with loads of roasted malts.

Draught. Deep dark brown close to black colour with a nice beige ehad. Roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits, some smoke in aroma. Good filling mouthfeel. The flavour is very pleasant with roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and some wood, pleasant hoppiness. Well present but soft bitterness. Nice!

Bottle shared by Kan, thanks! Poured black with a grayish brown head that started at the edges and dissipated completely. Aroma had note of dark grain and chocolate with a good amount of peat and smoke backing. Flavor had even more peat and smoke with a bit of dark chocolate and roast coming through and a hint of backing toffee.

2010-08-02. Black body with a creamy brown head. Super rich flavour, fruity alcoholic character, notes of bourbon or brand but ultra smooth. Holy $#!+! Notes of chocolate liqueur or Baileys like flavours, mocha, alcohol is seductive and dangerous. 9+ Aroma is similarly rich, tangy dark fruit, subtle dark malt base, some sort of barrel/alcohol presence, vanilla notes. RICH. 9+ Super smooth medium to full bodied palate. Sufficient alcohol to be a kick in the pants but kind of awesome. I was lamenting the generous pour from the bartender on the first one, and then went back for a second after tasting it. So good.
