COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boiled for 20 hours to create an umami flavour. Umami is the fifth basic taste next to sweet, sour, salty and bitter. By doing so we have now a beer that’s very thick and oily with loads of roasted malts.

Sampled at Copenhagen Beerfestival 2010. Black with a brown head. Light smoky aroma of grilled hot dogs and ash. Some fruitiness as well. Interesting, different and good.

Draught@CPH BeerFest2010. Pitch black creamy reddish brown head. Aroma is fruits, wood, mild honey, some slight hops and earth. Flavour is spices, liquorice, bread and some mild nutty notes as well. Hides the alcohol very well.

Draught at KØ10. Sweet vanilla aroma. Black colour. Small stable creamy brown head. The flavour is sweet and roasted with a distinct vanilla note. Sweet port notes, a little oxidised, but not bad at all.

Bottle 18 cl. Pours an opaque black with a small, rough, beige head. Hard roasted malt in the nose as well as whisky notes? Quite full-bodied, hard roasted malt, fairly sweet vanilla with a distinct warming alcohol in the finish. 070510

Tap (White Horse, Parson’s Green, London)
7 Massively meaty beef stock aroma.
4 Black, tan ring head.
8 Rich roasty coffee taste, gently bitter from burntness, but not astringent.
4+ Ludicrously full palate, slick and smooth. Just a gentle hint of carbonation.
17 Covers the alcohol well, but you can tell it’s a big beer.

Intensives Erlebnis! 9/13/8/13//13

Tap @ CBF. Aroma has leather, soy sauce, very intense, dark chocolate, a hint of vanilla, tar, cough syrup. Nice balance between intense roast and sweetness. Taste has soy sauce, leather, intense coffee, fark chocolate, hints of cherries, vanilla, caramel and toffey. This beer is so thick that you can cut it with a knife, insanely chewy.

On tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Coffee, cream, smooth and easy drinking. Some soot, smoke and sourness makes sure this is not cloying.

Cask at FONEFAN in Masters Division Celebration, The White Horse, Parsons Green, London. Brown. Aroma of warm wood floors and paneled rooms (haddonsman); bretty chocolate (harrisoni); sweet leather armchair taste (hughie); some dryness. Yes, I very occasionally lick my leather armchairs when I am in my cups.
