3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 pantanap (3153) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 16, 2011
De molen ziel and zaligheid. 20cl bottle acquired via trade. One bottle out of 96... Pours deeper and thicker than the wild turkey h&v with a more intense blackness and barely less intense reddish brown edge. An aggressive swirl yields a thin flimsy swirl of a deeper tan head, barely considered head as a matter of fact... Aroma of ink and and an unexpected smokiness, a little sulphur and intense bittersweet dark chocolate... Flavors are intense and assertive with ink and a peated smokiness upfront. Thick and charry with deep bittersweet dark chocolate and a roasted feel to it. Full bodied. Almost islay whiskeylike in nature. Finish gets a little inky.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Jaksmart (357) - Aalborg, DENMARK - MAR 20, 2011
Bottle. Almost pitch black, faint reddish hue, almost no head. Aroma is very thick, no alcohol, faint roast, sweet liquorice, milk chocolate, faint oak notes, if I’m not mistaken. Also some vanilla and some dried fruits and spices. Very delicious. Taste is extremely bitter with a very dry liquorice finish, lasting quite long. The initial sugary oak sweetness is quickly dampened by the harsh finish. Strong but not boozy at all.
