Poured a dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of sweet roast malt and coffee. Slightly weak body, flavour of coffee and milk chocolate, dry dark chocolate aftertaste. Bit hoppy for an Impy, but not bad.

330ml bottle (Koht Spring Auction, Tallinn)
Lovely spicy aroma, very burnt, but very hoppy too. Black, tight tan head. Full palate, pleasant but quite soft carbonation. Rich roast, extremely deeply roasted, very burnt, normally I’d say it was too burnt and astringent, but the biting bitter hops make that more fun - this is a real mouth-dryer. But there is a sweetness and fullness that counters that too. Perhaps a bit harsh as implied, but I still kinda like it. No way 8.8% can fight this level of flavour and be noticed.

Bottle split at Chriso Easter tasting, 04/04/15. Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is chocolate, light charr, toffee, spice, dark fruit notes, liquorice. Taste comprises cocoa powder, red berry notes, light spice, dark fruits, dates, prunes, earthy. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Drinkable but low end for the style, lacks depth.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has mild fine carbonation. Mildly roasted dark malts. Modest dark malt creamy sweetness. Light dry finish, a mild roasty bitter linger. Okay.

Scopey (8455) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 8, 2015
Bottle at the House of Pancakes. It pours clear deep brown with a thick beige head. The taste is toasty brown bread, grain, caramelised stuff and cocoa. The taste is toasty, earth, wood, leather, pepper, booze, dried fruits, toffee, cocoa and a touch of acidity. Medium+ body, high carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. A step down from the Linkwood version, but not bad.

Ik ben helemaal niet van de stout bieren maar deze heb ik voor de verandering een hogere score gegeven. Dit omdat hij zo ontzettend zacht is van smaak, de gebrande moutsmaak niet heeft en echt lekker kwa nasmaak was.
