Bottle 330 ml Appearance: Really nice looking beer. A bit cloudy orange body, with a Tall and very thick off-white head cream heaf, with very good retention, leaving nice amounts of lacing behind. Aroma has smoke,, grass, pine, citrus. Really nicely done. Taste: Starts smokey, some caramel, mango and pine and citrus bitterness. Aftertaste resiny with light smoke tones and caramel. going into double IPA teritory in case of fullness. Medium body, good carbonation, creamy texture. One of a kind brew and suprisingly working very well.

33cl bottle at home. Hazy amber brown with a medium tan head. Medium body with light to moderate carbonation. Smokey sourness with some fruity and bitter tones. Smoke, herbs, vinegar, caramel, malts and brown sugar. An interesting brew.

330 ml. bottle @ home. No BBF. Hazy orange, smaller white head. Nose is leathery smoke, light Tarry Souchong, smoked malt, smoked wood, huge leather, light pine way in the back. Taste is mildly bitter plastic, smoked oily pine mixed with caramel sweetness, light bark, pine, faintly floral, smoked wood, bitter plastic, loose tobacco,… Oily, rather milky, lightly dry body, some plastic. The plastic note dominates too much, it isn’t perfect for sure but it is interesting & enjoyable. With an altered recipe it could really shine. So far I am liking this brewery.

(De Natte Gijt Vredesgijt) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a tulip, ABV 6.8% A bit cloudy on the body, golden orange in colour. Tall and very thick off-white head, with very good retention, leaving light lacing behind. Aroma has smoke, but soft and nothing extreme, leaving space for the rest of the aromas -namely grass and some citrus- to appear. Taste also of smoke, some citrus on the finish, caramel, quite sweet in general, with the smoke returning on the aftertaste where it lingers for a decent amount of time. Medium thin body, good carbonation, kind of a numbing feeling on the palate. Interesting beer.

Many thanks to Skinnyviking for a 330ml bottle. Shared with Finn. Aftershave head, pearl white. Solid lacework to the glassware, Bright golden body, unclear last pour. Mixed aroma of smoked malts and pine. Smoked and brown malty flavours joined by pine and with hints of dried fruits towards the finish. Well bodied. Appreciated (Tromsø 11.02.2015).

Flaske 330ml spandert av Rune. Delt med ham på Nerstranda 11 Feb 15. Gyldenbrun. Høyt luftig skum. Tynn teppelacing. Aroma av røyk & frukt. Smaken svakt fruktig med en gjennomgående røyksmak. Velbalansert. Veldig uklar siste kvelling.

0,33 l bottle from Danny’s Drankshop, Roermond, NL, bottled on 28/1/2014. Clear, light amber with a thick, foamy, slowly diminishing, white to tan head. Many dotted lacings on the glass. Huge aroma dominated by smoked bacon and campfire with a floral, citrussy hop aroma of lime and orange as well as notes of chocolate and licorice. Lovely taste of smoked bacon with some citrus, lime and orange in the background. Quite long-lasting, medium bitter finish. Medium body, creamy and sparkling mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really good beer: attractive and tasty. Very good idea to combine smoked malts with an IPA-hop profile. This is a request to Schlenkerla to create their own IPA!

Cloudy with orange and red hues, tall and persistent off-white head, first nose was floral (partly elder flowers), grassy. Then came the smokiness and leather. Smoky in mouth. Decent brew, a little too smoky for my taste but normal for the type of beer.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
