Anker (723) - Hillerød, - SEP 15, 2009
Bottle 1991 at Akkurat, shared with Andreasen11 and plovmand. Pours clear amber, with a small white rim. Aroma is very nice, dry and sweet with notes of nuts, wood, caramel, sherry, plumes and a hint hint of alcohol. Flavour is smooth and quite sweet with oak and plume notes. Great oak and plume after taste - tweed like.

Huge thanks to callmemickey for pulling out this bottle. 1991 vintage. Served in a mini tulip. Pours a nice golden color with a short, bubbly white head. The nose brings some pretty heavy lactic presence along with some earth and mild acetic character in the background. A touch of oak comes through in the flavor along with a bit of earth. Nice acidity throughout. Medium body and moderate carbonation; very smooth and actually just a bit creamy. Quite good. This has held up well.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2012 1991 bottle opened April 7 2012.

A: Deep orange amber body. Thin off white head. Faint lacing.

S: Aroma is full of funky, juicy orange, lemon and horse stall. Dusty cobwebs and oak make themselves known.

T: Funky, musty citric and woody notes. Full of must, dust, and a gentle earthiness.

M: Nice assertive acidic tartness, a bit lactic with moderate carbonation. Distinctive, decidedly old in character. Well worth tracking down.

1991 21 year old bottle with no label, thanks callmemickey! Still smells awesome, sweet and tart light fruity yeast notes. The flavor is similar, starts with yeasty tart notes, not too puckering but dry for sure. Can foresee fuzz growing on my tongue if I went to bed after this one with the delicious aged yeast notes. The zesty full thicker body is nice, especially for being so old.

Årgång sent 80-tal. Trevlig doft, helt utan kolsyra men en bra frisk smak. Lång eftersmak

gyllenbock (1918) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 21, 2012
Bottle at De Heeren van Liedekercke, March 2012. Unknown vintage other than it was from the late eighties. Clear golden/orange with no head. The aroma and taste was very sour. Wood, fruit, barnyard. Well balanced and well aged.

Pour is transparent golden yellow with an off white head, tight small bubbles, and slightly creamy looking. The nose is a dry dusty funkk, cob webbs, very earthy with notes of soil. The fruit is behind, apricot is bright, very ripe and juicy smelling. The taste has lots of cob webb and bretty type funk. dry and earthy mid palate, lots of juicy fruits behind. apricots and peaches are assertive and bright with a nice sourness to balance. The body is a touch syrupy but balanced by a strong carbontion and dry finish.

Bottle @ RBBWG. hazy amber coloured gueuze with a small white head and some very light carbonation. Nice balanced sour grainy tart hinted aroma. Medium to full palate. Finish is sour fruity hinted with some tart malty dry endings. Very good.

Sampled @ RBBWG Antwerpen. Cloudy orange color, small white head. Smell vinegar, cellar and sourness. Taste very acidic: ok, but not really my thing. Average mouthfeel.

2011-01-29 - shared by jerc & mabel with me and blankboy. 375ml green bottle best before 1998. Clear light gold with pretty much no head, looks like flat apple juice (3- only because I don’t want to dis the aged). Aroma is hugely pungent and sour, my nose hairs curled away from it - like sun-scorched straw and lemon and lanolin - this is 15 years old? Really?? The taste follows, but solid honey sweetness in the background - no alcohol to speak of; simple. Still and acidic mouthfeel, quite sticky, but almost tooth enamel dissolvingly sour, leaves a dry aftertaste. Gooooood stuff.

blafa (505) - Helsingborg, SWEDEN - OCT 10, 2011
1991 Vintage bottle at Akkurat. Stockholm, 28th September 2011
Pours clear brown without and head - it’s long gone. Sherry-like aromas of sugar, nuts, sour fruit, grapes and some spice. Low carbonation. The taste is very oxidated just like the aromas. Very dead but still quite drinkable with some nice flavours.
