COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Keikoppenbier is a blond, high fermentation beer brewed with 3 different hops. The combination of these hop varieties give the beer a subtle hoppyness and make it an excellent thirst quencher. "Keikop" is the nickname for the inhabitants of Poperinge, Belgium. This nickname originated in the Middle Ages and refers to their stubbornness.

Bottle at Hasselt Beer Festival, Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium 12.11.11 in company of Loz, Jackie, Simon and David. This is a fairly safe beer without much to excite I’m afraid. It pours light gold. It is soft on the tongue, a little spicy and yeasty but other than that I am struggling to find much else to describe. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Head reduced to white rim in seconds; clear golden beer. Garden herbs, bit grassy, demure (why are brewers so shy of a prominent, imposing nose?). Dull grainy flavour; again a bit herbal, but finish is pure pale malts sweetness. Spritzy, light to medium bodied. Disappointing. Let’s hope the beer, when brewed at their own installation, will turn out better than this one, still brewed at De Proef (surprise, surprise). AND USE YOUR HOPS, fer chrissakes!
