Oatmeal Milk Stout.

Bottle. Pours a very dark, almost black beer with a creamy beige head on top. Aroma of oatmeal porridge, chocolate milk and slight roast. Flavor is sweet chocolate, caramel malts with a milky touch to it. Nicely balanced, soft oily mouthfeel. Long, light cloying sweet aftertaste. Nice surprise by both these breweries.

Bottle 330 ml at home, into a snifter glass. ABV 8.1% Totally black pour, with a big dark brown head, thick and creamy. Very good retention, it leaves medium lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet chocolate, vanilla, light alcohol, oats. Taste follows the aroma with oats, chocolate, just a touch of the alcohol, nice bitterness from roasted malts on the finish and on the aftertaste. Medium body, low carbonation, quite dry and a bit tangy palate. Very good.

Opaque black color with a very tan head that take a long time to fade out and keep a awesome lacing until the end. Aroma is quite weak with notes of roasted malt, oatmeal and coffee. Flavor is a mix of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and sweetness. Low carbonation in a full body with a seet slightly bitter finish. Very good one!

Zwarte kleur met een volle bruine kraag. Ruikt crème, vanille, mout en kers. Smaakt zoetig, crème, melk, iets bitter, beetje chocolade en koffie. Iets dikke structuur.

(Draught at De Prael Proeflokaal, Amsterdam, 1 March 2014) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee, dark bread and roasted oats. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, toasty oats, liquorice and a gentle lactose sweetness. Balanced bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, smooth and velvety mouthfeel. Tasty and well balanced. Very nice.
