Oatmeal Milk Stout.

At the brewery: Pours near black with a tan head. Arom ais roasted malt, a hint of licorice, chocolate, an plenty of coffee. Taste is a lingering sweetness. Plenty of sugar and lactose are present in this beer. Tastes like a sugared up cup of coffee with milk, which seems to be what it was going for. Not bad.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours clear dark brown with a big beige head. Aroma of fudge, light chocolate, caramel and sweet malt. Flavour I’d moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Tap at the Jopenkerk. Poured a clear dark brown with a big frothy tan head. The aroma is light roasted malt, caramel, toffee. The flavour is medium bitter, light sweet with a smooth, light fruit, alcohol liqourice bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Media bodied with average carbonation. It’s a fine beer but I expected a little more creamy caramel milky smoothness and less of the alcohol inspired bitterness which is starting to dominate.

On tap at Jopen. Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of sugar, coffee with milk and sugar, chocolate, roasted malts, toffee. Flavour is quite sweet, coffee with milk and sugar, toffee, roasted malts, bitter finish. Medium-bodied. A bit too sweet IMHO.

Great soft milk stout. The chalkiness give a lot of pleasure and the alcohol gives it a kick in the end. Really nice. Bottle from De Bierkoning.

Countbeer (4749) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - FEB 23, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized creamy beige foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of liquorice, maple, marzipan, bay leaf, leaf roast, malt roast, pils malt roast, crispy cardboard and some chocolate. The flavour has some sweet tones while this beer stays pretty true to stout and thus puts the sweetness a bit to the side. Some brown sugars, raisin, roast, cream, bay leaf, mocha, bitters, coffee with sugars, leaf toast, some caramel, toasted flowers... Bittersweet and creamy. Aftertaste is roasty, bitter, leaves, sweet and toasty/malty. Low carbo, thick creamy thick foamy mouthfeel, medium to fuller bodied and a thick foamy texture. Nice but bit (too) sweet...

Sample in de Wildeman. Zwartbier met een mooie bruine kraag. Erg zachte milkstout met zachte geroosterde mouten, wat toffee. zeer makkelijk drinkbaar met een behoorlijke body.
