Bottle shared by nimbleprop. Pours clear yellow with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma and flavor are heavy malt (straw, grain, meal, cereal), medium hops (earthy, herbal, grassy), and average fruity esters (apple/pear) with notes of sweaty socks. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation with a dry finish.

330mL thanks to nimbleprop brought back from his honeymoon. Wooo! Well, wasn’t expecting much here but really liked this. The pour is a clear, pale yellow with sticky white lacing. Aroma is grassy, lemon, oatmeal malty. Taste is heavy oatmeal, rich maltiness, almost Biere de Garde in malt character. Very simple and delicious.

Bottle consumed at a recent tasting. Served in a SAVOR snifter. Pours a moderately-hazy straw color with a good white head and some mild ringy lacing on the way down. The nose brings forward a bit of light grain and has a bit of light hoppiness--mildly herbal and earthy. Classic blonde characteristics with some yeasty spice there as well. The flavor has a bitterness underlying it and then hit on top of that with some light grain and moderate yeast character. Belgian spice. Mouthfeel is light with a dry bitterness in the finish. Quite good. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-28-2011

Bottle from De Prael brewery shop. Hazy yellow with a medium head. Intense spicy aroma, mostly coriander, and some fruity notes. Hints of bread amid the spices that provide the necessary, if somewhat harsh, bitterness. Chewing gum sweetness. Drinkable, but not memorable.
