bottled, as heintje. pale golden, clear with a keen head; aroma hints at lemon zest and earhy spice, some alcohol showing; traces of vanilla and hay; not awful but unexciting

A darker weizen than usual. Aroma is not banana, but more orange peel. Taste is a little bit sweet but balanced by a light bitterness.

The beer is quite dark for a weizener. It is a little orange and cloudy like a normal weizener. The looks are a little more like a pilsner, but there are definitely some weizener aspects. There is a minimal amount of white foam. The smell is delicious. It has the delicious citrus smell, a little orange and a little lemon. This citrus aroma results in a sweet, bitter and sour smell, all in good balance. If you take a deep sniff, you are able to distinguish some almondy alcohol aromaís. The taste is also very nice. There is a little by more bitterness in the taste, I think because of some hops. The taste is also sweet, and sour, very fruity and citrusy. The taste is typical for a weizener, just what you expect. Very nice.

Beetje vreemde weizen is dit. Niet de typische smaken of mondgevoel zoals je dat verwacht. Heldere kleur. Vrij kruidig en iets muffins met graan en hooi oid. Banaan en citroen. Niet super maar wel ok.

Broodachtig citrus aroma. Wolkachtige schuimkraag, mooi typisch troebel weizen. Mooi vol bruisend weizen smaak lekkere aangename body. Prachtig.

Pours hazy and cloudy light golden. White head. Aroma reminds of carefully treated Brettanomyces, in a way similar to Orval. Scents of yeast, cider, bread dough and lime. No banana aromas, as in many other white beers. Sheer acidity and tinges of sweetness and metallicity, but no bitterness. Very interesting beer.

330ml bottle from Albert Heijn supermarket, Amsterdam (Ä1.89):
This one struck me as being a pretty average witbier if Iím honest, it was in no way a bad offering but it didnít really excite me either and Iím not sure itís one that Iíd be likely to pick up again in truth. The nose was quite light and overall so was the beer with a nice zesty, citrus taste that was refreshing and easy to drink but it wasnít a stand out witbier by any means; enjoyable but not a must try Iím afraid.
