4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a beautiful hazy, light amber beer with a lasting light beige head. Bottle says this is a barley wine and imo it probably is. Maybe Iíd say itís a combination between a barley wine and a saison. Itís got a malty syrupy sweetness as well as a but of barnyard and funk. Works very well. And the full body and perfect carbonation make this a terrific beer!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle thanks to Leighton at the Pre-Zwanze. It pours hazy golden-amber with a thick beige head. The nose is sweet doughy, caramel, toffee, butterscotch and sweet stone fruit. The taste is caramel, toffee, candied orange peel, apricot, toast, stewed apple and decent alcohol kick. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet and fairly boozy. So-so.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Stubby 330 ml bottle, poured into a snnifter glass at home. ABV 9.7%
Stated as a Belgian Strong Ale here, tripel on the commercial description and barley wine on the label..
Pours a red amber coloured beer, with a thin off-white head, with average retention and thick lacing left on the glass.
Aroma of green olive kernels, fruits, caramel,
Sweet taste of apricots, caramel, little hoppy bitterness that becomes more intense on the aftertaste.
Thick body, very good carbonation, just as much as it needs. Dry and sticky palate.
A decent barley wine, the alcohol well hidden, not too strong, not so intense on the aromas but smooth, easy to drink and very pleasant.

33cl bottle at Bruceís, thanks to Leighton. It pours a hazy orange colour with very small white head. Loads of yeasty floats. Aroma is sweet with dark fruits and rum plums. Taste is sweet again with caramel, run plums and rum cherries. Quite a booze kick to it. Thick mouthfeel with good carbonation. Quite good if a tad sweet.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at Pre-Zwanze tasting - London. Aged about two years. Pours mostly clear, orange-gold with a fine, creamy white head. Nose has some grainy bread, apple, fig. Medium to big sweet flavor, some dryish bread, stewed apples, faint toffee. Medium to full bodied with creamy carbonation. Moderate warmth to finish, plenty of fruity sweetness, bread. Not bad, really.
