Dark copper beer with a nice lacing beige head. Sweet caramel, toffee and coffee nose. Sweet candy sugar taste with a roasted flavor, cinnamon and some spices, oily palate, moderated aftertaste of roasted grains. Nice beer, i liked it:)

(Draught@Arendsnest) Hazy dark reddish brown with a huge, firm and everlasting head. Aroma of caramely, slightly roasty malt, and dried fruit. Roasted-grainy-malty, sourish flavor with the vegetably De Prael "house flavor", and some ashy bitterness that stays for long in the aftertaste. Almost medium body, slightly sticky palate with smooth carbonation. A slightly vegetably bock, but at least the sweetness is not too much.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown excellent mostly lasting head. Red-amber colour. Heavy malty light hoppy aroma, very spicey with cinnamon and coriander notes. Moderate bitter flavor, Long ok finish. Oily palate and a little too fizzy.

Cloudy brown with red hints. Small creamy white foam. Aroma of raw yeast, white bread, blue plums, figs and cocoa. Full flavour of yeast, bread, biscuit, blackberries and alcohol. Warming finish of raw yeast, pepper, currant-leaves and white bread

Oct, 2007 On tap at ’t Arendsnest the day after the marathon. The Arendsnest sample tray with the barman’s recommendation and tasting notes. Some alcohol warmth - cooking chocolate malt - light body - gentle spice (sage?) Good balance. Nose is mostly carbonation. Decent beer. [3.5]
