pivnizub (7229) - Bochum, Porúří, - JUL 4, 2009
Bottle: Hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, big - slowly collapsing - fluffy beige head; caramelly-toasty nose with a subtle fruitiness and a distinctive acidity in the background; moderate to robust sweet-bitter flavour, accompanied by a light acidity, medium bodied; vinous notes and a tinge of alcohol in the drier sweet-toasty finish, followed by a bitter aftertaste. Not bad, but not well rounded...........

Countbeer (1944) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - DEC 20, 2011
Draught: Small to medium vast light brown head on top of a deep dark brown to black colored beer. Smell spices, light roasted malts, nuts, barley and herbs. Taste is a good firm bitterness with hints of roasted malts, raisin, barleys, nuts, sweets, roasted grains. Nice, soft and smooth! Roasted bitter aftertaste. Low to medium carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to fuller body and a creamy sticky texture. Well balanced, tasty and very smooth.

Ok...all look though. Deep dark beer with nice head. However its aroma and taste is lacking somewhat, but this maybe due to the strength of everything else on the board!

Sampled on tap at the brew pub. Pours an almost opaque, mahogany brown with a creamy, off white head. Nose is a little yeasty, some dark malt, a little sugar, otherwise mild. Flavor is really solid, dark pumpernickel bread, sweet, malty, yeasty. Flavor finishes with a great chocolate note. Medium bodied, dry finish. Wish this had a better nose because the rest of this is strong.
