FatPhil (3449), Espoo, Finland Dec 18, 2008 500ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Deep orange, large creamy head. Beautiful fruity and spicy aroma - a touch of belgian ale yeast and some dusty hops. Lively carbonation in the mouth. Quite grainy malty body. Quite soft, and with a decent burntness at first, and then a biting hop finish to really freshen the mouth if the carbonation was not enough. Also some grass in the finish. Nothing spectacular, but definitely solid across the board. Borresteijn (1349), Amstelveen, Netherlands Dec 8, 2008 Bottle at Arendsnest. Beer is called Snaterende Arend Parelduiker, brewed by de Prael. Cloudy orange/amber beer, big white head. Aroma of spice, yeast, wheat, caramel. Flavour is spice, cloves and coriander, caramel and wheat. Too much carbonation to make this a pleasant drink. Dickinsonbeer (3434), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA May 5, 2008 On Tap at Arendsnest with Bierkoning. Pours a light copper with a lasting head. Aroma is dusty and toasty malts, light banana, earth and straw. Flavor is initially pretty light- medium toasted bread, with some green notes- some sour apple- acetaldehyde. Finish is a bit soapy with some citrusy lemon cleanser. Weird but ok overall. bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Apr 18, 2008 Tap. Orange and some medecine in the aroma. Orange flavor with ginger, coreander and some flowery hops. Somewhat medecinal aftertaste. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Apr 8, 2008 On tap at Arendsnest. Spicy. Cheesy, even.
