3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jaghana (2829) - Strasbourg (France), FRANCE - DEC 18, 2012
Bottle 33cl, a syrupy dark amber beer with small creamy and off white head. Nose is on barley notes, cereal and alcohol. Aroma is again very grainy, lot of barley sugar, toasted notes, sweet oranges, yeast, bit massive, cherries, grassy bitterness at the finish. Not unpleasant but unbalanced.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ClubGonzo (2696) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUN 26, 2011
Bottle. Pours a murky brown body with a small caramel head, vanishing rapidly. Aroma is nuts, dark malts, hints of Belgian ale yeast, caramel and raisins. Nice, but a bit faint for a quad. Taste is raisins, plums, dark candy sugars and hints of caramel. Some tartness in the finish, unexpectedly. A bit plain but an OK quad. At least the brewery claims it to be a quad, I see RB has it different.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - MAR 9, 2012
Very dark brown body and light tan head. Yeasty sweet arom, brioche bread, chocolate muffins, caramelized red apple, but maybe not as expressive as such a description might indicate. Bit disapointing. Taste makes up for this: a real warming, light sticky body. Lots of fruity, sweaty sweetness, dried fruit and with a alcohol hint at the back. Finishes with burned caramel. Warms my throat as well as my heart, as I love this kind of full bodied sweetness in a Belgian style beer. Low carbonation further accentuates this character. Can see how this might not appeal to everyone, though. (33cl bottle, reasonably priced)
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 77ships (2156) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - OCT 8, 2012
33 cl. bottle @ home - thx. to Martinus for this one. Pours dark brown, light hue bordeaux, smaller tanned head. Smell is sweet boozy, berries, licorice, molasses, toffee, caramel malts. Bit odd taste, very heavy on chocolate milk with some plain chocolate, lightly watery, berries, touch roast, twigs, sweet spices, somewhat bitter in the end, where the alcohol pops up and starts warming your through, strong chocolate milk nature remains, rather enjoyable at first if bit odd, gets hard to finish by the end of the bottle - yeah
