Sweet, appley aroma. Dark, murky brown in color with an effervescent off-white head. Complex dry fruit, buttery (diacetyl?) ...a solid quad with a slightly dry finish.

Bought a bottle at this sympathetic brewery. They told me that this is a Quadrupel-style beer. I didn’t quite know what to expect but it was pretty good. Very nice darkbrown appearance, lasting and creamy head. Dark fruits are well represented in this brew. This certainly had character. And quality. Strong mouthfeel, bit alcoholic palate. Didn’t bother me at all. Excellent brew!

aroma of strawberries and other red fruit. Very dark, almost black. Has the viscosity and palate of a porter so it does make you sip it for a long time. Very nice taste evolution as well with a nice alcoholc warming aftertaste.

(Draught at De Prael Proeflokaal, Amsterdam, 31 July. According to the chalk board the ABV is 11.0%) Dark brown colour with hints of red. Frothy, beige head. Malty nose with dried fruit, caramel, raisins and spicy hints of nutmeg. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, herbs, caramel and dark bread. Full body, smooth and well rounded mouthfeel. Fairly sweet with some alcohol shining through in the finish. Very nice.

Bottle from the brewery shop, ABV is 11.5%, so a new edition is appearantly made. Dark reddish brown with a big tan head. Sweet, fruity aroma, notes of plums. Sweet molasses and plummy flavours, still not overly sweet. Decent.
