Hunsell (398), Amsterdam, Netherlands Jan 20, 2005 Bought a bottle at this sympathetic brewery. They told me that this is a Quadrupel-style beer.
I didn’t quite know what to expect but it was pretty good. Very nice darkbrown appearance, lasting and creamy head. Dark fruits are well represented in this brew. This certainly had character. And quality. Strong mouthfeel, bit alcoholic palate. Didn’t bother me at all. Excellent brew! caesar (2574), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands Feb 27, 2003 Dark brown/black color, with a thick creamy head. Aroma is full and sweet chocolate malty, but not very complex. Sweet taste, chocolate malty. Bit dry and sharp alcoholic palate. oh6gdx (6343), Vaasa, Finland Jul 12, 2007 Bottled. Amber colour, beige big head. Aroma is earthyness, malts and some slight caramel. Flavour is hay, alcohol, caramel and some earthyness. The bottle made a 5-6 cm high fountain when opened... yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Mar 12, 2008 75 cL bottle, thanks to fonefan. Pours dark brown with a fully diminished head. Light yeasty and solid caramel malt aroma. Flavour is medium sweet and light spiced. Almost toffee like flavour. Smooth and toffee flavoured finish. Grovlam (3204), Copenhagen, Denmark Mar 14, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of fonefan] Large off-white creamy head that really lasted. Hazy nutty color. Good display of lacework. Aroma was very fruity with hints of toasted malt and grain. Some underlying yeast, malt and again fruit as the predominant note. Medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Moderated sweet fruity flavor with hints of light sour notes. Fruity finish. Quit nice.
