Flat stout that is a little too sweet for my taste. Could use some more depth and spices.

Bottle. The smell of roasted malt, sweet aroma of sugar and cola, a little bit of sourness hidden in the background. The small brown fizzy head has a normal duration. The body is black. A malty taste, light bitter taste of coffee. The body is medium strong, dry and light creamy with a lively carbonation.

Bottle pour. Pours a dark brown with a beige head of foam. The aroma has dark chocolate and coffee notes. Taste is similarly roaety and mildly sweet. Medium body.

33cl bottle. Black colored, thin white head. Black currant aroma, interesting stuff, some chocolate. Flavor has sweetness, black currant, some roastedness. Not sure if this is intended or not, but drinkable still, quite interesting.

On tap at Proeflokaal Arendsnest, Amsterdam. Body is black, head is medium, brownish, creamy, average lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is empty, flavor is milk chocolate, light roasty. Medium sweet, light bitter. Finish is short lasting roasty light bitter, medium sweet. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Easy, light dessert beer, not bad.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2015 Bottle, 33cl. Pours dark with many large white particles floating around. Brownish head. Aroma of chocolate is drowned in the ocean of acid and vinegar. Truly awful and worrying. It gets even worse once sipped. Taste of very light sweetness suddenly overwhelmed by long-lasting sourness. Lactose is likely biologically degraded too. The carbonation is wrong too, very fizzy. This one was seriously infected and left awful long-lasting aftertaste. I guess it will take a long time till I ever try any of Da Paerl again. P.S. The BB was still three months ahead.

On tap at the Prael, Oudjaarsticken pub crawl. Black pour with small tan head. Aroma is roasty, lots of chocolate, tons of milk chocolate, really on the desserty side with nice light roast. Taste is sweet, ever so slight roastiness, milk chocolate, mild acidity. Palate is med bodied with light carbonation. Not the best but quite easy drinking.

Butelka 0,33 l. Zapach słodów palonych z nutami czekolady, karmelu. Piana dość obfita, jasno brązowa, drobna. Niezbyt trwała, do końca utrzymuje się tylko cienki pierścień przy ściance szklanki. Barwa ciemna, brunatna. W smaku króluje kwaskowość górująca nad posmakiem czekoladowym. Piwo jest aksamitne w odczuciu, nisko nasycone.

33cl bottle at home. Dark brown with a small tan head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Quite sour with some sweet tones. Roasted malts, vinegar, brown sugar, spices and herbs. Ok, but somewhat too sour.
