3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at De Prael, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Wednesday 3rd October 2012 Just about as near as you’ll get to black, actually it’s black a slim film sits around the edge. Nourishing, with a milky coffee flavour, a little fizziness on my tongue, a little roastiness and bitterness also. Quite nice. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dark brown pour with a khaki head. Smells of burnt toast and roasted malt with a mild diacetyl aroma. Some mild lactose sweetness and earthy hops. The flavor is a bit buttery as well with a heavy roasted malt character, burnt toast, and a mild toffee sweetness. Fairly bitter for a milk stout without much lactose character.

Black body, reddish hue, beige head. Aroma of lactose, roasted malts, kvas, milk, roasted, light sweet. Bit mineral. Sweet malty flavour, lactose sweetness, but not overly sweet, and light roasted malts tones. Full body. Short finish, sweet malts, roasted tones.
Enjoyable milk stout.

The head is robust, the body cloudy and black. It smells roasty, a bit sweet, milky. The taste is a bit milky, roasty, creamy, intensive but not to intensive. Very nice! 13/13/13/13/-/13

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ De Prael. Deep brown/black appearance with a brown head. Milky, espresso, chocolate, vanilla aroma. Vanilla, rich dark chocolate, light fruity, light caramel flavor. Pretty tasty brew. This was described to us as a milk stout and it tasted like one to me, so I’m not sure why this isn’t classified as a sweet stout.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at De Prael. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Light roasted aroma with a little chocolate. Flavour of malt and chocolate with mild lactose. Slightly higher carbonation than I would expect from a milk stout.
