radiomgb (1921), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 14, 2008 Golden yellow in colour with a long lasting white coloured head, good lacing. The aroma is of light spice, sweet, some apples, berries and yeast. The flavour is a bit soapy at times, spicy, yeast, floral and herbal, perfum is too much at times. Spicy mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes long, spicy, some floral hops and perfume.
Quite spicy with lots of perfume throughout this. Just like walking thought the perfume section in a department store, its starts off okay at first but then you just want to run away.

highibus (421), Mill Creek, Washington, USA Sep 14, 2008 A nice straw color with thin white head. Aroma of bret and sweet bread. Flavor is heavily bret and not much malt. Nice sour beer but no sweetness whatsoever.
Good beer. cmillward (419), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 13, 2008 (Surly Bird) Bottle, courtesy of boboski. Sampled summer 2008.
Pours a slighty hazy gold, tiny bubbles contribute to a thin white head, leaves a little lacing around the glass. On the nose, tart, acidic, spicy brett, some funked up malt coming through on the nose, stewed tomatoes. Slightly tart, some sourness, apples, leathery and grainy malts, and a touch of butterscotch. Perhaps feeling its age, though the hint of acidity in the nose a much subdued in flavor. Musty apples are less predominant on the nose of this than in the Spoon Whacker. This is quite interesting, the big ABV isn’t noticable, and a very unique brand of funk to this series. agl108 (503), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 13, 2008 Bottle at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured hazy orange with minimal head. Flavor is of sour fruits with a sweet, acidic finish. Improved as it warmed. Interesting, but I wouldn’t drink again. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 9, 2008 Honey colored brew with a pillowy off-white head. Thick lacing sticks to the side of the glass. Extremely yeasty, biscuity, with a touch of sour. Sweeter than I expected. Definitely the mildest addition of Brett I’ve tasted. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Sep 6, 2008 Bottle 75cl. @ home. [ As Vlaamse Primitief Wild Ale ] Clear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, light hoppy, moderate yeasty, horse blanket - leather notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet, light light acidic and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (290608) rustychiles (997), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours a cloudy orangeish yellowish brown murky color with an active white head. Aroma of funk, yeast, sourness, cidery apple. Flavor is funky, slightly sour, fruits, spices, very active carbonation. Decent brew, but not quite up there with the big boys. milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Aug 19, 2008 Updated: Aug 22, 2008Funky, sour yeast taste up front followed by excellent hop bitterness.
