Taverner (825), San Ramon, California, USA Jun 14, 2008 Like a slightly sour ESB. It has a bitter flavor, the bretts, very dry and aromatic. Had this as Reinaert Flemish Wild. Poured golden with almost no head. The smell of farmhouse filled the vessel. First note was very short and dry. Sometime after this has dissipated, you get a faint bitter aftertaste lingering at the back of your throat. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Jun 2, 2008 From Oldsmar Tap House. This stuff was very good. The aroma is deep with pieces of apple, pear, strawberry, and cherry. The taste adds a distinct peppery character with honey, straw, and more fruit. Lots of lace in the glass from this distinct, complex beer. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA May 22, 2008 750 mL bottle. Pours cloudy yellow-orange with a large, frothy, white head, lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (meal, straw), average hops (flowers, perfume), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of apricot, pear, plastic, and band aids. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. CanIHave4Beers (833), Des Moines, Iowa, USA May 19, 2008 My bottle was a "Pinhead" edition.
This was not really what I was expecting, but perhaps a little better. The beer is aromatic, with big floral & hop notes, not to mention a very pleasant funk.
The beer is a very cloudy blond beer, with a nice fluffy head.
Very good flavors of apple, funk, and great hop flavors.
This is a very pleasant ale.
Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle. I had the wild ale version. Pours golden with red flemish hues. A nice aroma and flavor of funky, dry, fruit. It was good for what it was. lagomswedish (213), Umeå, Sweden May 5, 2008 Bottle shared with Ronald and Carita in Finland. Smells like the spray you use when you pick up a knock playing football. Very medicinal and herbal with slight banana tones. Pale straw in colour and slightly hazy. Obvious alcohol. Wild yeast yes, flavour and drinkability...not really. kiefdog (1534), Tampa, Florida, USA May 4, 2008 11.2oz bottle from Oldsmar Tap House (Florida). Pours a dense, cloudy, caramel yellow with a thick white head that settles quickly and thoroughly laces the glass. Aroma is sweet flowers, honey, sweet milk. Flavor is also sweet with notes of caramel, complex spices, vanilla and honey. One of the more unique beers I have tasted. Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA May 1, 2008 Bottle from Trapezze. Pours gold with an off white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, and booze. Taste is bitter with yeast & spice. Finish is also bitter. Mouth is fairly well carbonated. Body is light to match. Overall, a nice "funky fresh" brew.
