gottalottaibu (242), charlotte, North Carolina, USA Nov 7, 2007 pig nun. hazy darker yellow with a tight head. subtle funk upfront with some sweet yeast and old fruit. smooth and slightly sweet. tart flavor is minimal but does have a very different grainy aftertaste. crisp finish. SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 29, 2007 750 ml bottle - cloudy yellow with thickly textured head; aromas of yeast and a slight hint of fruit; smooth and subtle flavors with very mild aftertaste redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA Oct 29, 2007 Flemish Primitive #5 Demon Fish, thanks to SOLAN! Funk, candied green apple skins, a little sweet a little sour in the aroma. Pours golden blonde. Tart brett right away, hoppy, almost alittle catty, the aftertaste is like stale cereal (capn crunch), but after a few sips it is less cereal-like, it does have a concentrated sweetness. Great upfront, but i’m not so into the aftertaste, which reminds me of an old british ale thats past its prime. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Oct 28, 2007 Reinaert Flemish Wild Ale
9/25/2007: Reinaert Flemish Wild Ale is golden orange in color with some sediment in it. The head is foamy, large, and off-white in color. The aroma is acidic, but some malty and carmelized sugar still comes through. The flavor is slightly sour and has a distint green apple quality to it. It is quite tart and puckering at times, but very refreshing and difficult to stop drinking! There is also a slight bit of oxidation present. Averall this is a very satisfying sour ale that actually smells more sour than it tastes.
750 mL corked and caged bottle (9% alc./vol.) from Tmoney99. Thanks Tom! Rating #302 for this beer...
fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 23, 2007 Cloudy yellow color with a thin white head. very musty aroma and alot of blue cheese and funk. tastes about the same. Not bad at all just differennt. A little fruit in there too. ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Oct 21, 2007 Appearance: Pours a clear, yellow body with a small, unassuming white head.
Smell: Gah! Extremely funky doesn’t even begin to describe it. It’s like a huge hunk of Stilton wrapped in a horse blanket and smothered in rotten, zombified fruit husks and topped with a drizzle of high-quality honey.
Taste: Light breadiness with a large amount of melted blue cheese, who’s flavor grows more and more as time goes on. Sharp, funky flavor like chowing down on a pair of swimming trunks forgotten in a car trunk for a couple weeks in the middle of summer, and though I’d never imagine myself saying this about a beer, here goes: it’s painfully cheesy. Vague fruitiness, like molded melon rinds. There’s a drying bitterness throughout, particularly on the spicy, sour finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: These De Proef Flemish Primitive beers really put you to work, don’t they? kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Oct 21, 2007 Updated: Mar 29, 2009

jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Oct 18, 2007 Nice spiced aroma, flavor starts out a little citrusy and tart, with some nice spice. But it all heads south with the finish. Its heavy-sweet and bitter. The alcohol becomes apparent not to long after you’ve swallowed. I could slightly enjoy this one, but the finish reminded me a little of vomit. Not the best.
