Thanks Josh for bringing this 750ml bottle over. I would have guessed it was a Unibrou beer based on the label. Poured a medium and clear amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of rotten citrus, oakiness, spices, and fruity. Tastes of caramel, fruity, and spices.

I can’t believe this isn’t from Unibroue, because everything about the bottle and label looks like it was lifted right from them, but I digress. Amber-orange pour with a thin white head. The nose is light and spicy with some apricot and peach. The spiciness has a kiss of herbal character. It’s a bit grassy with a bit of soft spiciness. Light roast and licorice on the back with a touch of chewiness. Okay, but not great.

750mL bottle. Poured a healthy shade of medium orange with a short cap of dirty beige head.. fairly clear, at least initially. The aroma picked up sweet, almost candied molasses, anise, and green apple upfront.. a little warmth brought out a lovely dose of dark fruity yeast and tangy orange zest.. a lot of competing character here, but it held up well enough on the nose. The flavor found jammy darker fruits, with acrid cocoa and anise as well.. fruity yeast and black peppery notes around.. sticky and fairly bitter on the finish.. I didn’t dig the malt bill here, and the beer as a whole was a bit too sugary and bitter. Medium-bodied and tacky at times on the palate.. bitter and grainy feel.. warm on the nose after the finish.

Bottle at Paul’s saison tasting. Pours a somewhat hazed dark brown with a thin beige head. Strawberries, sweet herbal notes, caramel and chocolate. Medium bodied, sweet and smooth. Finishes with a bit more faint musk, a touch of chocolate and figs.

Bottle thanks to Ben! Pours a hazy orange red with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a very earthy grain note with some dark chocolate and a hint of funk and spice. Flavor has a earthy grain note as well with a hint of chocolate and some fruits and spice. Quite muddled.
