Pours a hazy light yellow color with a big, but not dense, white head. Smells sweet and fruity with lots of malt in the nose as well. Tastes slightly of raisins again. Also, big, ripe, sweet malty flavors dominate. Palate is thin and crisp with good carbonation that lasts through the entire glass. Good beer, not my favorite Belgian but good.

Cloudy golden, moderate head with good lacing and retention. Aroma is pepper, herbal and grassy hops, light spicing, pale malts. Medium bodied, somewhat sweet, lightly alcoholic finish. Sorta like a bad Duvel.

The aroma was spicy with a strong herbal hop character and a bit of light caramel. The aroma was fruity with a light sweet candy note and a bit of pepper. The beer poured into the glass clear golden with an effervescent quality and a head that was white and everlasting to lace the glass. The flavor was light with some caramel and a bit of pepper spice from the Belgian yeast. Clove was also notable as was just a bit of cinnamon with some herbal hop flavor and a decent level of bittering. The flavor was lightly fruity and the beer easy to consume. The body was medium with a high level of carbonation and a spritzy nature on the palate. A nice beer, not overly complex, but nice to consume and with restrained alcohol presenting only as a mild warming post consumption. 750 ml bottle, corked and bailed.

old rating: 6/4/7/4/16 - 3.7 pours a semi-hazy golden orange-yellow with quite a large white head, good lacing. smell of pear, some banana, yeast, a touch of citrus, and a little toffee. taste very similar to smell, pleasant mouth-feel, fruity yet not too sweet, just the right carbonation, leaves the mouth sour, just a little bit of spice to kick it up a bit, ends slightly dry.

Pours clear yellow with a bit of a white head. Aroma is pear cider and yeast. Mouth feel is a bit thin, but expected for the style. Flavor is pear, bread, butter ? and a bit of spice. Finish is mostly alcohol with some residual yeast flavors. Pretty good.

This beer is a bit of a mess, which is somewhat surprising given that I am generally a fan of De Proef products. Fizzy golden pour with light cloudiness and a tart aroma. Yeast and fruits promise a moderately funky strong blonde, but the taste is a combination of extreme buttery flavors and a slightly acidic finish. It’s not all bad, and has enough spice to give this some complexity, but certainly a notch below the usual.

This poured a cloudy golden color with a two finger off-white that receded quickly. The aroma was of citrus fruits, some sweet malts, spices, and a hint of sourness. The flavor was of citrus fruits that was almost tangy and sour with some malts and spices as well. It had lively carbonation and a nice creamy mouthfeel. It had a nice sweet aftertaste that finished a little dry and felt a little alcohol warmth as it went down. Pretty solid for the style and better than I was expecting.
