I absolutely love this beer. People stating that it is a rip off of Duvel clearly have no idea what they are talking about.

#534 (Jimmy Foxx). A most pleasant experience, not overpowering, generates a most agreeable buzz, presents a smooth and buttery consistency, a sweet flavor with a butterscotchy presence. Got more cloudy and better as it got towards the bottom of the (big) bottle.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2008 Poured from a stubby 330ml bottle into a snifter. This presented itself as a valiant citizen of Belgium ... golden orange, hazy and opaque with a mushroom cloud of white foam to cap it off. The first waft gives me an aroma of lemon grass and a sweet fresh springtime air ... very inviting and seductive. The flavor is grand, but light and fruity, almost as sweet as a pineapple fruit cocktail. As I slowly sip it on this cold February night, I want for a warm sunny day in a European cafe with a plate of soft cheese. Superb! (#2677, 2/3/07)

Some fruit, sugar and a bit of clove in the nose. Nice fluffy head. This sis pretty tasty. A bit of hops in the finish. Fluffy and fruity, but I like it.

Wow, very nice. Slightly cloudy gold with a big white head. Yeasty Belgian nose with lots of fruit. Fruity and sweet flavor, maybe an undercurrent of pepper buried under the malt. Great looking with gorgeous lacing. Mild dry finish. Fantastic.

Poured from 11.2oz bottle. Aroma of angel food cake. Cloudy, golden, with white, persistent head. A bit of sediment floating around. Hard to describe the flavor - almost like a lemon meringue taste. Pepper/spice and alcohol in the back. Plenty of lacing. This one made my day.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 loweredsixth (946) - Clovis, California, USA - NOV 29, 2004
UPDATED: DEC 2, 2004 Absolutely perfect hazy golden color with a large, fluffy white head. The aroma was full of a gentle funkiness...not unlike some geuezes I’ve had...floral, fruity (apricot), grass, and sweet clovelike tones. The flavor was much of the same...apricots, peaches, flowers, grass, slight wet animal fur funkiness, with a hint of clove. The feel was very lively...somewhat thick feel...dry finish. Wow!

750ml bottle. Pours hazy golden, with a huge, thick white head. No joke when I say that the beer should be poured slowly as the thick head lasts quite some time. Spice, and lemon flavors, some yeast in there towards the end.
