Pretty! Perfumed citrus aromas and flavors, mixed with spices, sour cherries, and bunches of fresh flowers. Slightly sour palate, similar to a Flemish red. Good carbonation. Overall, a touch sour, with beautiful aromatics and flavors. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

The beer pours a golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of brett notes, as well as some dry citrus notes - mainly orange and lemons. The flavor is a little more complex. There is a lot of brett in the flavor, which comes across as leather and a bit of funk. There is also a good bit of juicy orange and lemon notes, as well as some biscuit malt. The beer is not sour, but the funk and leather notes definitely come through strongly. The alcohol is definitely present, but it is not overpowering. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours a slightly hazy blonde copper color with a good to finger head that laces out nicely. Aromas are bright and focused... grassy, light malts, barnyard, citrus. On the palate it follows the nose nicely with got funky earthy notes that are balanced well off of the tart lemony citrus forward flavors that really quench your palate nicely ending in the classic spice touched dry saison finish.

Bottle thank to errl. Gold with a white head. Nose is earth, spices, farmhouse, funk, honey, cinnamon, and florals. Smooth on the palate, heavy florals, yeast, lemon, brett, spices, and clove.

A delicious beer. Aroma was classic saison. Nice strong barn aroma mixed with light fruits. Apple and fruit cocktail. Pour was a nice medium dark gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was, again, classic saison. The barnyard funk is woven in with light fruits (apple, pear and grape) and a nice yeast kick. The problem with this beer is the little to no carbonation. Beers like this need strong carbonation to make them lively and refreshing and this beer was not flat but close. Nice beer nonetheless and with stronger carbonation it would be a 4+ beer

A steady pour produces a three finger thick, pale, white head that leaves lots of lacing on the sides of my Lost Abbey Teku glass. The beer is a pale amber tinged, gold color that shows a bright, clear, yellow-gold hue when held up to the light. As I pour this beer it smells fruit and apple like in a floral sort of way. A more focused inspection yields more of the same with a backing spice note and phenolics that lean towards clove. The fruit definitely plays the lead role; apple, slight pear, touches of honeydew melon and even some ripe plum notes are all noticeable. After a bit, some dried hay like, and pale soda cracker like malt notes become lightly noticeable towards the finish. The yeast character also contributes a slight mustiness, touches of woody spice notes, young ginger, definite clove, and maybe even a hint of allspice.

Effervescent and foamy as I take my first sip, this helps to lighten what would otherwise be a medium’ish bodied beer. There is a definite perception of sweetness here that is accentuated by the fruit notes, but ultimately this beer finishes quite dry and a little spicy. The finish has a phenolic, slightly medicinal, suggestive of muskiness, peppery and woody drying character, hints of acetone or perhaps paint thinner (both in a good, wild yeast sort of way though), definite clove, and touches of quite smooth, though spicy higher alcohols. The sweetness in this beer is definitely brought out by the fermentation derived fruitiness, as the beer would otherwise be quite dry and almost mineral like; fruit notes of pears, perhaps a touch of star-fruit, and some hints of floral apple are all noticeable in the flavor.

Not bad, I usually prefer something a bit more quaffable than this in a Saison, but this is in line with one of 8%. The Brettanomyces character is quite soft and well integrated at this point, and I wonder if this might still get a bit more aggressive with age. This is definitely a bit simplistic; part of this is that it can be a bit hot and phenolic in the finish without enough balancing character in the rest of the beer.

750 from West Lakeview. Dry slightly spicy saison. Orange and lemon. Slight taste of brett that gives off that sort of lemon flavor. Very yeasty. Really nicely done.

I’ve had this cellared for a year and the fruit tones are nicely balanced with the leathery brett in the yeast producing a residual sweetness which reminds me of white grapes. Nice crisp effervescent character with some dryness in the finish. I probably should have kept this longer but its too difficult for me. Elegant aroma of sweet fruits.

Hazy orange. Fresh fruit aroma with light sour and funk notes, too. Lightly sweet fruits, bright flavor, a bit of sour fruit, soft spice. Musch more refreshing than I had expected. Nice.
