COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The sixth edition of the De Proef Brewmasterís Collaboration Series is our first blended beer. Legendary brewer, Alan Sprints of Hair of the Dog joins Dirk Naudts at De Proef to create this unique bottle conditioned beer. Flanders Fred is a blend of Flanders-sourced lambic with a collaboratively-brewed version of the famous Hair of the Dog Fred. The result is a deep golden ale topped with a creamy off white head. The nose is complex with notes of lemon, pine, tropical fruits and spice. The palate is rich and layered with toffee, apricot and almond, balanced by some green apple, a hoppy bitterness and barnyard funk. Please enjoy Flanders Fred with food and friends. This beer should pair very well with many cheeses, roasted vegetables and grilled meats. We believe this bottle will continue to evolve beautifully over the next few years, adding a subtle blending of the flavors.

Pours brassy gold, with a fluffy persistant head that leaves lacing all the way down the glass. Aromas of citrus and brett funk dominate, with hints of oak, caramelly sweetness, and hops peeking through as it warms. Tart, effervescent mouthfeel leaves a bit of puckering green apple quality in the corners of the mouth, almost overpowering the malt and hops from the Fred component, but not quite. Finishes surprisingly malty and bitter given the sour into. This is a simply phenomenal blend, and the first beer in this series that has really impressed me. Hopefully I can snag a few more for the cellar before too many people catch on.

Great back story to this rate. I was meeting up with HeffIam for an in person trade. He and some buddies were in town for a bachelor party. I introduced him and a few of the celebrants to Dave Blanchard, owner of the Brick Store. He proceeded to show them the Brick Store cellar and pop one of these bottles on the house. Glad he did. Marvelous beer. Pours a just hazy red with hint of brown. Big white head. Scent is cranberry, sours grapes, and tart candy. Well balanced sweet and sour flavors. Lively with a light medium body. Bottle - Brick Store Pub - Decatur, GA

Pours a murky hazel with very little carbonation or head. Smells like honey and straw, slight caramel. Taste was very unique, very balanced honey, earthy, wood, slightly bitter. Palate was mild with a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Overall, a unique experience, not sure Iíve tried anything like this before.

I love ferris he is wonderful and smells lovely and looks oddly sexy in sweats. Lame ass smell (not ferris), sweet cherry, Chardonnay, light caramel I think not much. The taste is much better - dull. Lightly sour cherry, oak, weak vinegar, hint I apricot, breathe out some alc, wood stuff, meh. Not feeling this at all. Light water light fat.

Bottle - Bready, honey and apricot sweetness. Hazy gold with a rich white head. Sour apricot and marmalade sweetness. Tastes so much better than it smells. Fruity and sour, but a bit jammy.
