"A stylish and artistic collaborative brewing effort that combines the enormous talents of Dirk Naudts, at Belgium’s De Proef Brewery, and Tomme Arthur of Port Brewing and Lost Abbey in southern California."

Bottle courtesy of Falco242. Sweet aroma, but not overly Belgian for a Belgian Strong. Understandable with half of it’s influence from a Southern California brewer. Murky reddish orange with a tan head. Bitterness is moderate. Very good brew.

Nice foamy pour and a totally unfiltered color. Not the usual belgian which is good, a nice belgian start with wheat flavor that starts to transfer to a hoppy subtle bitterness. A really nice brew.

Bottle to oversized snifter. Looks good; a hazy brown with off-white lacing. Smells solid; candy and dark fruit. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant mouthfeel. Solid.

bottle - Pours hazy amber and has an aroma of yeast, malt, grapefruit, and cherries. The flavor is sweet up front with a dry finish. It’s moderately bitter, yeasty, and a little funky. The body was a little thinner than I expected. Definitely let it warm. I didn’t get much spice which could just be my tasting or lack thereof or maybe the spice is more subdued since the bottle has aged awhile. It’s a good beer but honestly I expected fantastic and it fell a bit short.

Bottle. Brownish amber brew with a small amount of white head. Nose is funky, earthy, and dirty (in a good way) with caramel malt. Lots of tart brett with some spice and caramel. I think this had aged wonderfully.

Wittales (695) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Appearance was cloudy brown with creamy off-white diminishing head, spotty lacing. Aromas are sweet toffee, sugars, spices, fruity yeasts, slight hops and dough, no alcohl present 8.5%. Taste where crazy spices, caramel, toffee malts with slight tartness and figs, dates, cherry from the bretts. Palate was slick texture with soft CO2. The meduim-full body with average length smooth spicy finish. If had more hoppyness...

Pours honey amber in color with a bright white very nice, lacy head. The delicious juicy aroma brings tart and sweet notes shining through nicely from some time on the Brett. The flavor brings tart Brett that tastes nice, but has lost just a bit maybe with time. The flavors of some white wine with a bit of dryness even though the beer is a bit juicy overall come through in a nice way.

Bottle; Pour is slightly murky golden with a frothy off white head in this glass. It retains fairly well, with some sticky lacing present. The nose is tropical fruits, lemon grass, with some caramel and biscuits present. This is a nice belgian strong here ; it is slightly boozy, with some american hop presence, I suppose. The Belgian side is a bit on the stronger side; There’s some more tropical fruit, candied sugars, caramel, bready malts, and some bitterness from the hop notes. Again ; a nice one.

This beer appears a very hazy, light brown hue with a minimal head and just a touch of lacing. Aromas consist of Belgian yeast with perhaps a hint of citrus and hay. This collaboration tastes decent, but not great. For the price and availability, I would never choose this over Duvel or Delirium Tremens. However, I am always elated to taste a new beer, especially from two highly respectable breweries.
