(Sour Monday - Triple Rock) Bottled. Lots of malt. Wasn’t really expecting that. No sourness as far as I detect. Some hops. Perhaps with age will improve.

Tap @ Falling Rock. Hazy golden orange color with an off-white head. The aroma was very floral and herbal, yeasty, earthy, and some leather. The aroma was nice and complex. The flavor was fairly herbal with some leather and yeasty notes. The finish was very dry. Too dry for me. Herbal/spicy bitter finish.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy dark gold body with big head. Aroma is peachy, orange, spicy yeast, some etoh and floral hop notes, golding maybe. Sweet dry with brett an d then a bitter hop and lightly citrus flavor. I liked it less as i drank more.

Poured from a 750. Golden orange, and semi-clear pour with a misty quality. Intense aroma of citrus oil and apples, lemon juice and mint, some heat. Crisp and grassy hops lead the flavor with a spicy kick, oily and brisk with green spices and herbal notes. Suggestions of wheat and sweet dough fill in the middle, leading to refreshing but quieted sourness. Crisp, but heavy in the mouth; somewhat slick. Finishes with heat and citrus juice, drying quickly. Not stunning, but a unique collaboration and memorable to that effect. Thanks for sharing, Ken!

750ml. Pours a a bright, light orange color with a very compact, creamy, large white head. Aroma is nice and gentle, smooth and appetizing. Pears, apples, a slight zesty peppery quality. A little white wine characteristic, a little rubber. The funkiness from the brett is apparent slightly if you look for it but it is certainly subtle and you could mistake it for something else if you did not know the background of this beer. Perhaps that will change with time, however. Taste is bready, pretty fruity, relatively bitter for the style. A little leafy and plasticy. I haven’t had this beer before but from what I can imagine the hoppiness is now subsided and the funk is not in well enough effect and this beer is kind of in a in-between phase that makes it not that special. Not bad it just doesn’t stick out to me.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hombrepalo (1401) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 20, 2008
Pours a lightly hazy, golden-orange color. A small, frothy white head leaves behind minimal sudsy lacing that mostly rejoins the body. . Spicy and fruity aroma, orange peel, apricots and a soft earthy/spicy yeastiness. Flavor is burly crystal malts, but quite dry, moderate bretty character, cherry syrup, fruity chalkiness (sweet tarts), clean finish, lightly orangey. Not so impressed by this one, expected more from a $15 bottle.
