Source: 300mL bottle from Chucks in Bowling Green.
Glass:Oerbier tulip.
Appearance:Hazed orange pour with a two finger white head that hung on for a while. Nice lacing.
Aroma: Lots of fruity esters, pears, apples and tangerines. Some background spices are present too, mainly cinnamon and clove.
Flavor:Sweet malts with alcohol and a surprising hop presence. Some of the same esters and spices in the aroma, but in background amounts. Quite nice actually.
Palate:Medium body with soft/medium carbonation.
Overall:Excellent collaboration between these two. I don’t have a lot of De Proef experience, but I want more after trying this beer. A little bit high priced, but still an excellent brew.

Draft. Pours a dark orange with white head that dissipates rather quickly. Aroma is of apricots, banana, and peach. Light malty aroma. Taste is more of the same, but with that signature Belgian flavor from the yeast. Reminds me of a fantastic tripel with added flavors. Palate is medium body, good heft. Some moderate carbonation. Not too heavy nor too light. Overall very impressed with this beer.

Draught @ Albion. Faintly cloudy golden yellow with off-white foamy head, vanilla like aroma with some tropical fruit, medium carbonation, thick body, slightly salty taste with a bitter finish. Very satisfying brew.

Golden pour with white head. Had this as part of a flight at Half Acre. Bubblegum and sugar, mild tartness and very fruity. Very good.

Bottle (750 ml) at tasting. Clear amber with a small bubbly white head leaving little lacing. Aroma is quite yeasty with raisins, spiciness, alcohol, cardboard and rotten notes. Taste isn’t much sweet, there’s moderate spiciness, a bit of alcohol heat, lots of fruity yeast and oxidation notes. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Fruity and a bit spicy finish. Not the kind of BSA I like, lack depth and not a clean profile enough.

Pours a clear amber with a thin white head that leaves spotty lacing. Nose is of cardboard, fruits and light vinegar. Taste is of caramel, booze and more oxidation signs. Some dark fruits or maybe red grapes. Body is medium, carbonation low to moderate and it does feel a little vinous. OK but nothing much.

pours hazy/cloudy light brown orange with a small light beige cap offering minimal retention and lacing. spicy sweet dill, fruity nutty maltiness, spicy raisins, rotten red fruitiness - very curious aroma; belgian yeast. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; astringent, ashy, sweet and spicy finish. fail.

Cette bière sans mousse et sans grandes bulles montre une douceur maltée et des herbes. Le goût est sensiblement le même avec une apparition fruitée. Le corps est sans bulles. La finale est maltée. Sans grand intérêt.

Gerbeer (2917) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 12, 2016
330 ml bottle. Pours a dark hazy amber with light to moderate head. Aromas of rye dough, dark fruit, and Christmas spice. Flavors of rich sweet malts, raisins and Christmas cake, and Belgian yeast. Wonderful.
