COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong blonde ale of about 8.5% alc. by volume that claims vaguely to be an “abbey” beer, Guldenberg bears no resemblance whatsoever to any Tripel you may have sampled, except in color perhaps. It is very hoppy and malty (though not quite as assertive as De Ranke’s XX Bitter). Made in small batches only on the weekends, they are quickly gaining a reputation as the best specialty beers of Belgium.

Hoppy and spicy aroma, with complex spicy notes (cubeba, pimento, cloves), grassy and light flower hop. Light sweet taste with moderate bitterness, light malt and fruits. Fresh ethers and ripe fruits in the aftertaste. Some yeast and moderate grassy bitterness. Another good thing from De Ranke.

Bottle at Turisten, Ljungskile. Clear yellowish orange with a small white head. Inviting aroma of floral hops, big malty hints of honey, earth, caramell, some yeast. Taste fruity, bitter at first, floral hops, evolves into more sweet territory with malty flavours, showcasing a very nice balanced body, some sweet bread, caramell. Finishes with a slight bitter hint. Medium body, medium carbo, slight creamy texture. Very nicely executed.

Nice gold with a lasting foamy top. Bitter at first, but sweeter as it progresses and into the finish (white sugar, caramel). Lots of hops. Full body and long finish. Tingling. Malt, dried leaves, white sugar, bit floral maybe. Nice complexity and well balanced, excellent beer

Bottle: Pours slightly hazy, golden-yellow with a whipped white head. Lemony yeast, citrus scent.... Taste is delicate...fruit/citrus/yeast....black pepper hops... Really nice...just a subtle hint of alcohol.. Taste is delicate..

Golden color with small white head. Aroma is sweet, biscuity. Very sweet, floral, sweet finish. Not much of the ABV noticeable. A fine brew.

This beer has more alcohol, then you would taste. A lovely beer, with great aroma and colourful appearance.

BOTTLE 33 CL At 8% abv. The aroma starts with something spicy, harsh and dusty. The go the dominant notes - spicy peppercorns along with juicy green pepper, followed by a light fruity sweetness, that barely balances out the spice. The bitterness is also peppery but not that heavy. A touch of warming alcohol here and there. The carbonation is soft and foamy, as is the body - deceivably light and easy drinkable, without sacrificing the flavour. Very good.

Das hat mir gut gefallen. Ein guter Bumms an Hefe und milden Hopfen, dazu schön fluffig und zum Schluss etwas Vanille nebst etwas Butter und ein paar Blumen. Hat mir gut gefallen.

Bottle from Trinkhalle in Bochum. The beer has got a hazy golden-strawy colour with a low head and smooth body. Aroma of malt and Belgian yeast, followed by a taste of Belgian yeast, strong alcohol, malt, cloves, mild herbs, flowers, overripe fruits and light honey. Herbal finish with a big massive Belgian yeast overdose. Warming. Solid in its style, yet nothing extraordinary good.

Poured from bottle. Golden orange color. Weak aroma, some floral smells coming through but not much there. Medium head, foamy and white. Taste is balanced, sweet & bitter. Bubbly mouth feel, quite refreshing. This is a beer that’s easy to drink without sacrificing flavor.
