COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A strong blonde ale of about 8.5% alc. by volume that claims vaguely to be an “abbey” beer, Guldenberg bears no resemblance whatsoever to any Tripel you may have sampled, except in color perhaps. It is very hoppy and malty (though not quite as assertive as De Ranke’s XX Bitter). Made in small batches only on the weekends, they are quickly gaining a reputation as the best specialty beers of Belgium.

Bottle bought @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Cloudy orange. White head. Soft fruity aroma with yeast and some bitterness. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a pleasant sweetness with a good bitterness and ripe fruitiness with some yeast.

Guldenberg Blond.Tasted at Copenhagen beer festival 2006. Hazy golden colour. Sweet, lightly fruity aroma, great sweet taste of hops and fruits. Tasted Oktober 7th 2007. Pours an orange colour with a fair head. Sweet toasty aroma with spices, yeast and hops, which also appear in the flavour though more profiund with more tosted malt and spices. Very nice.

Hazy dark orangy color, small but steady creamy head, some lace. Aroma has peach, cardboard, toffee and some underlying woody hops. Medium to full bodied. Yeasty, grassy hoppy but same time a bit spicey with hints of plum. Alcohol picks up in the aftertaste. Complex but propably needs some aging, now quite yeasty.

Bottle. [thank you, dedollewaitor]
Pours deep amber orange with a fine, creamy, yet rather fizzy off-white head. Aroma is great, lots of chewy malts, yeast, pine-like hops, good caramel. Nice creamy mouthfeel with lots of tiny bottles. Flavour is wonderful, very dry, nice malt balance with an affirmative bitterness. This is one nice, bitter Belgian :o)

Bottle courtesy of beermouth. Pours a hazy deep yellow, bordering on orange. A fine, slightly thicker than film, head stays on the beer. Aroma has flowers, fruits, yeast and a soft sulfuric note. Taste is typical Belgian, sweet, slightly fruity sour, quite dry. A slight bitterness at the end. Not vinious, but warming.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2009 Hazy yellow with a lasting white head. Fruity aroma of citrus, apple and banana. Quite bitter for a Belgian, even a hint of grapefruit.

cloudy dark yellow, smooth lacing offwhite creamy head. yeasty sweet yellow fruity aroma, well balanced and blended mild aroma. flavor is yeasty, dough, malty sweetness, balanced, hoppy, not the usual yellow fruity flavor, but a more dry flavor, dough and flour is prominent. A bit strange, but good anyways.

Golden with a nice head and a good lace. The aroma is very floral and fruity in an almost perfumed way. the mouth feel is rather full. The flavour is sweetish with notes of flower and it’s quite citrussy, actually more like grapefruit. In the finish I also find light notes of caramel.

Bottle. Aroma of citrus and bitter hop backed by earthy spice notes. Hazy peach color with a decent white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. The flavor is a bit woody/funky with caramel, spice and hop bitter. Heat arrives quickly. The finish is quite dry, almost astringent, and some medicinal wood and bitter hop are present. Very interesting; very tasty.
