In short: A grassy-herbal yeasty blond Belgian ale. Highly drinkable. Good beer.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed as fresh as I could get it in Quebec, which means 3 months after it was bottled.
The look: Bright golden-amber body topped by medium white head leaving lots of lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose evokes a countryside field, wild flowers, green herbs, vegetables, yeasty notes. Intriguing aroma. Taste is quite yeasty and quite hoppy, malts sit on the backseat, some coarse grainy malts, a strong yeast presence, low sweetness sensation, mild fruity notes (less fruity than most Belgian blond ales), dried wiled flowers, sun dried yellowed grass, a mild spiciness (herbals + white peppers). Bitterness level is medium and rather dry. Pleasant lively mouthfeel. Not exactly an exciting beer but drinking a 750ml was more than easy, drinkability factor is very high in this one. Harvest ales have become quite popular in North-America and I didn’t know Belgium breweries also made harvest ales, oh well, you learn something new every day, unless you had a brain injury, then it’s pretty much just coloring book and yelling at household objects.

Bottle from Beergium. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, yeast, a bit of ripe fruits and pine. Bitter finish with citrus, hops, pine, some earthy and sour notes. Very nice belgian ale, unfortunately it’s most likely well past its prime at this point due to decomposed hopping.

750ml bottle. Clear golden colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Floral and grassy hoppy aroma, minimally dusty, hints of pollen, unspecific fruity background in green apple and unripe pear direction. Taste is minimally sweet pale malty, minimally biscuity, floral hoppy overtones with accumulating mildly grassy hop bitterness, fruity background with hints of green apple and pear; super soft palate, gentle though effective carbonation. Another very nice De Ranke Ale with subtle strengths.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours clear golden with a thick off-white head and a floral citrus aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor and still some hoppy bitterness after 3 years in the bottle.

Capped 750 from Berkeley Bowl West. Pours hazy gold with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of fruity and earthy hops. Med body or better. Lots of hop; pretty dry; fairly bitter. Tastes really good; hops seem to have avoided damage.

Just some attributes from the tasting notes: sweet malts, harsh hops, oxidized? sweet sour and bitter flavour.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2015 75cl bottle shared@Nieuwjaarsreceptie Gentse Biervereniging, merci. Damp honey pollen in aroma lands gently on dry honeyed malts and more damp XX Poperinge bitter grassy hops, well-rounded. Evidently lost some over age, but quite some simple splendor managed to survive.

nel colore quasi arancio, schiuma corposa non molto persistente. birra erbacea, molto luppolata, amara ma molto bevibile.

golden color with a off-white head. nose: malts, hops, bit of a metallic touch in the back. taste: malts and a lot of hops. great MtF, very well balanced. almost smooth and creamy, but a long gentle bitterness, dry taste. was a bit afraid that the aging would have had an impact, but it feels less than i was worried for. All in the back, got some malt sweetness. but this is still a very fine, fresh hoppy brew. on the otherhand, carbonation feels a bit subdued. good beer.
