COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek de Rank is real Belgian sour ale fermented with cherries and then blended with real lambic. It is unfiltered and unpasterized. The de Rank brewery was founded by two good friends; Nino Bacelle & Guido Devose. To them, brewing is a weekend hobby, not an occupation. For a few hours every week they make small batches of what many consider the best specialty beers. Their beers are robust and flavorful. They use the best Hallertau and brewer’s Gold varieties of hops.

Cloudy pinkish red, foamy pink tinged head which fades quickly. Sour fruity aroma. Tart cherry taste, high carbonation. Flavorful, light and refreshing. Alcohol is well hidden. Acidic fruity finish. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

Pulled from my shelf of Belgian beers that Im sicking of looking at in my basement and was pleasantly surprised. Really great cherry flavor with a nice crisp tartness. Light body and drinkable with a subtle funkiness.

On cask at Moeder Lambic Saint Gilles. Nice Red Color with cherry nose. Beer acidic with perfect balance.

EXTREME....... Try it only if know something about The Lambic family, otherwise get back home! Everyone trying this beer will find something different, its a subjective and REALLY extreme beer. It feels like fire in your stomac.

Kriek De Ranke on punainen olut vaaleanpunaisella vaahdolla. Tuoksu on happaman kirsikkainen ja maanläheinen. Maultaan olut on erittäin hapan ja kirpeän kirsikkainen. Ehkä vähän turhan limumainen. Tässä on myös runsaasti hiilihappoja. Hyvä olut.

25 cl. draft in a De Ranke glass @ Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas – cannot believe, I haven’t tried this one before – A: dark raspberry red with a foaming, hello kitty pink head – S: yay, strong lambic smell here, tart with sour & acid lemons with some kind of sour & acidic indefinable blend of raspberries & kriek – T: musty, sour & acidic, very tart lemons, hint rainwater, very lambic-like, Cantillon-like even, great, cellar dust, acidic & sour with sweet raspberries in finish (I know that this is a kriek but if I had to guess the fruit, I would lean towards raspberries), some concentrated sour kriek as well, still sweet touch berried underneath – B: medium with slight puckering sourness – got to love the sour stuff – great stuff here

Keg at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Pink red with a bubbly pinky purple head. Aroma is naturally lots of cherry and a touch of sourness. Maybe more sharp than sour, and a bit vinous too. Taste is initially full on, nice and sour then moves on to really fruity finish. Very soft in the mouth. Very nice.
