3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Geuzeman (2) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAY 18, 2013 does not count
In de neus de geur van schimmels, paddestoelen, urine ... Muffe geuren ook. Heeft de smaak van oud bruin en zure krieken. Bittere afdronk. Niet slecht maar ik drink toch liever een echte oude kriek.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ClubGonzo (2717) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 20, 2013
On tap @ Moeder Lambic Fonteinas, Brussels. Slightly hazy deep cherry pink body, medium pink-hued white head. Nose is sweet cherries, almonds, hints of lemons. Taste is mellow cherry tones with grains, hay and mineral hints in the back. High carbonation, slightly fizzy body. Nice, but without many of the dimensions I often find in sours from Cantillon and 3F.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 lotsalaughs (104) - Alberta, CANADA - APR 7, 2013
barnyard, basement aromas, earthy, woody, citrus, bread, pale, red, hazy, minimal head, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium sourness, light body, creamy, average carbonation, long finish
Pale red pour with quick disappearing white head. Dry sour aromas with underlying earthy barnyard and citrus. Taste is predominantly sour, but not harsh, with a nice balance of bitterness and subtle sweetness. Thin bodied with an average carbonation. Mouthfeel is creamy and finish is very dry. This went extremely well with aged cheddar cheese!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 gEUS (587) - Linden, BELGIUM - MAR 28, 2013

Bottle. Beautiful bright red pour with bright pink head. Good cherry aroma, lambic funk, light lemon juice, fruity tartness. Taste is really tart, tart cherry pie filling, nice sweetness however balances out the acidity for something "close" to balanced. Palate is still dry despite there being a bit of residual fruit sweetness. Very tasty.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jackl (2596) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 15, 2013
Bottle @ home. Can’t remember where I picked this up. Definitely not from the Vatican. The pour’s a deep uncooked steak-like purple red color. The nose is strong sweet warhead candy, semi-metallic cherry. Bright raspberry fruits. Nice, aggressive kriek nose. Quite a tart aroma. The taste is meaty cherry. Nice lambic-like lactic cheesiness, hints of yogurt. Soft woody notes. Nice jammy blackberry/cherry finish. Lip-puckering tartness. Light body, soft carbonation. Very pleasing to drink. Overall, a really nice beer.

750ml bottle. Pours bright red with a thin head. Aroma is tart and cheesy, with cherry and raspberry seeds. Taste has sour yoghurt and a little cherry to start. Tart puckering finish. Not a lot of fruit. A little short in the mouth.

Of course you have to love the packaging. Great pour--orange-red-pink with some haze; pretty good head of big bubbles. Aroma is super musty and sour. Flavor is very tart--no fake lambic here! This has a lot of complexity and is great for sipping. I like that it’s a bit challenging--it wasn’t easy to finish the 750ml bottle by myself. Very interesting and presents great pairing opportunities.
